I've visited Union Larder close to 20 times, as it's conveniently located a short walk from my home. My experience has consistently been excellent. I particularly love the wine selection and the overall ambiance. Every person I've introduced to this restaurant has also fallen in love with it, which speaks to its consistent quality and appeal.

My experience at this bar was absolutely excellent. The ambiance was wonderful, creating a truly pleasant atmosphere. The wine selection was very good, offering a nice variety. Most importantly, the service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making the visit very enjoyable.

My experience at this San Francisco wine bar was truly exceptional. Tucked away in the vibrant heart of the city, it's a gem for wine lovers. The global wine selection is outstanding, with a particular focus on Australian and New Zealand labels. We sampled two from each and were thoroughly impressed. The culinary offerings beautifully complemented the wine, with dishes that were both elegant and flavorful. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern sophistication and warm hospitality. Rounding out the visit was the courteous, knowledgeable staff, who were attentive without being intrusive.

This is an amazing place to grab a glass of wine or stay for food and more wine. We enjoyed a bottle of Albariño, a few oysters, 3 cheeses, and 2 meats from their selection, all of which were fantastic. The atmosphere here is such a vibe that you can’t go wrong with coming here. It is a bit small, so you may have to share tables or wait, but it’s definitely worth it.

I walked in on a Friday afternoon around 5pm and easily grabbed seats. The service was excellent, and the wine and food were fantastic. I also loved the big windows, which made it fun to people watch.

My experience at this wine bar in Russian Hill was fantastic. The food was delicious, and the drink menu was great, all served in a lively setting. If you love salted cured meats, this is the place for you. The ghost pepper salami was the standout, with the pate coming in a close second. The drink selection is great, as it should be, featuring wines from all over the world and a nice selection of beer offerings. Everything was moderately priced, and the service was great. Dos thumbs up 👍👍.

My experience at this lovely little place was fantastic! The atmosphere was great, and our server was super friendly. We tried the bresaola, which was amazing, and the cheese fondue, which was also delicious. The portions were big; two orders of fondue could easily feed three people! I also appreciated that the charcuterie is almost all housemade, and they have a great selection of cheeses.

My experience at this restaurant was enhanced by the charming atmosphere, particularly the sight of the trolleys moving up and down the hill while I enjoyed some nice wine. The service and atmosphere were both rated a perfect 5 out of 5.

This was a fantastic way to start off a weekend in SF. It was worth the hike up Hyde from the Argonaut. The food, wine, and ambiance were all great. Coming from Tempe, the open windows and breeze just added to the wonderful experience. Cheers!

As a party of 4 neighbors from Russian Hill, we deeply regret choosing Union Larder over our usual spot, Muse. The staff was incredibly rude, initially offering us only 4 bar stools in a corner that we didn't fit into. They stated, "we might need space for other customers. " Throughout our visit, the staff was inattentive to our needs and provided no information about their food. They seemed preoccupied with guarding empty bar stools, appearing anxious about gratuity. This made us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. The establishment would have benefited from focusing on service and selling their food choices. Instead, our night was a disappointment; nothing was interesting, and no staff attempted to make it so. We left without trying any food, despite having an appetite, after having 2 drinks each. I recommend firing the current staff and hiring individuals who find pleasure in the business, offer suggestions, and ensure customers feel welcomed. This place is a total lipstick on a pig scenario; it looks nice from the exterior but offers only disappointment and no value.
