Cozy Fillmore Spot with Great Bartender
My experience at this cozy, dimly-lit bar/coffee house in The Fillmore was quite pleasant. The brick walls and high ceiling created a comfortable atmosphere, enhanced by mid-century films projected on one of the walls. It's a low-key and comfortable spot, reasonably priced.
The young bartender was particularly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, cheerfully serving hot lemon water when tea wasn't available. However, it's important to note that they cease serving coffee well before 11 pm and do not serve tea, which might be a consideration if a late-night coffee is your goal. Parking can be somewhat difficult to find, though free street parking is an option.

Cool Spot, Needs Better Games
This is a cool spot for a late-night nibble with a friend or two! It's not the biggest place, so I wouldn't recommend it for a large group, but maybe a group of 3-4 at most. I came here with high hopes to play games with my friend, but the games selection wasn't the best, to be honest.
Luckily, I brought a deck of cards and we chose to play with those over any of the options there. This place would win so many more points if they stocked up on some better games! Also, an insider tip: bring 4 quarters to get 1 sticker out of the machine (pictured)!
Food-wise… For my plant-based folks: if you’re looking for a hearty meal, I wouldn’t recommend this place, but if you’re looking for smaller/lighter bites or just drinks, this place will still work for you. I got the veggie tacos and split a salad with my friend, and they were good but not super filling. Luckily, there’s some dessert places nearby if you want to get something sweet afterwards (we went to Phillmore Creamery and would recommend).

Okay for Casual Chats, Not for Studying
My experience at this restaurant was average. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, making it not the best spot for studying. The table was small, and it's probably better suited for casual chats.
The service was also average.

Not ideal for studying
My experience at this restaurant was not ideal for studying. The atmosphere made me feel pressured to order something every half hour, which made it impossible to focus on anything. While the food was decent (rated 3/5), the atmosphere (rated 1/5) and service (rated 2/5) detracted significantly from the experience.

Great Vibe, Good Prices
I had a very nice vibe experience at this restaurant. It's a great place to hang out or study. The foods and drinks were pretty reasonably priced as well, which was nice.

Super cute place, great wine!
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. The place is super cute, and they have a great wine selection. The people working there were also super nice.
I would definitely go there again! I didn't try the food during this visit.

Unpleasant Experience with Rude Service
This place is described as a study area, but there are no outlets for computers, and the bar format is not exactly comfortable for studying. I had an unpleasant experience and will not be returning. When I tried to charge my laptop at the bar, away from other customers, the waitress passively aggressively told me it was not allowed.
I moved to the front to charge my laptop, which worked. My brother was about to order, and when he asked me, I said I didn't want anything at that moment. The waitress overheard and threateningly stated that if I didn't order, we would have to pay an hourly fee to study there.
This was 40 minutes before the laptop curfew, the establishment was half empty, my brother had already agreed to order, and I never implied I wouldn't order at all, just not at that moment. The unnecessary aggression was uncalled for. I told my brother to cancel his order, and we left.
I have no problem paying fees or ordering, but the waitress's rude behavior made the experience hostile and unwelcome. Edit: I appreciate the reply and understand the logic behind needing customers to purchase things to keep the business open, as well as the hourly fee. I only ask that this policy is displayed more clearly and unambiguously.
The Google Maps display is also deceptive, showing closing hours of 11 pm, which may draw in customers expecting to study late. Generally, cafes in San Francisco close early, so customers might be upset to find out the actual "study hours" end at 5 pm. Hopefully, this can be communicated better on Google Maps.
Alternatively, offering a list of cafes that accommodate late-night work/study at the entrance or bar upon arrival could be helpful. For anyone reading this, the Yemeni cafe, about a 20-30 minute walk away, did not impose fees and was where I ended up studying.

Great Concept for Work-Life Balance
This place has an amazing concept for work-life balance, allowing work and study during the day but prohibiting computer use after 5 pm. It's a cute place to foster work-life balance. I highly recommend it whether you're looking for a place to chill, hangout with friends, or even enjoy some solo reading time on the nifty wall seats.
The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the food also received a 5-star rating.

Hidden Gem on Geary Street
My friend and I planned a walk, but the windy weather led us to this hidden gem instead. Tucked away on a quiet section of Geary Street, this place is perfect for a date or a small group get-together. They offer a great selection of wine and drinks.
We didn't try any food this time, but we're considering it for a future visit.

Disrespectful Bar Staff
My experience at the bar was extremely negative. We decided to order takeout, but the woman working there seemed displeased and walked away while whispering. I've never encountered such disrespectful customer service.
She acted as if she was sick or something. It was a disgustingly disrespectful interaction.
