Cozy Fillmore Spot with Great Bartender
My experience at this cozy, dimly-lit bar/coffee house in The Fillmore was quite pleasant. The brick walls and high ceiling created a comfortable atmosphere, enhanced by mid-century films projected on one of the walls. It's a low-key and comfortable spot, reasonably priced. The young bartender was particularly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, cheerfully serving hot lemon water when tea wasn't available. However, it's important to note that they cease serving coffee well before 11 pm and do not serve tea, which might be a consideration if a late-night coffee is your goal. Parking can be somewhat difficult to find, though free street parking is an option.

Cool Spot, Needs Better Games
This is a cool spot for a late-night nibble with a friend or two! It's not the biggest place, so I wouldn't recommend it for a large group, but maybe a group of 3-4 at most. I came here with high hopes to play games with my friend, but the games selection wasn't the best, to be honest. Luckily, I brought a deck of cards and we chose to play with those over any of the options there. This place would win so many more points if they stocked up on some better games! Also, an insider tip: bring 4 quarters to get 1 sticker out of the machine (pictured)! Food-wise… For my plant-based folks: if you’re looking for a hearty meal, I wouldn’t recommend this place, but if you’re looking for smaller/lighter bites or just drinks, this place will still work for you. I got the veggie tacos and split a salad with my friend, and they were good but not super filling. Luckily, there’s some dessert places nearby if you want to get something sweet afterwards (we went to Phillmore Creamery and would recommend).

Okay for Casual Chats, Not for Studying
My experience at this restaurant was average. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, making it not the best spot for studying. The table was small, and it's probably better suited for casual chats. The service was also average.

Not ideal for studying
My experience at this restaurant was not ideal for studying. The atmosphere made me feel pressured to order something every half hour, which made it impossible to focus on anything. While the food was decent (rated 3/5), the atmosphere (rated 1/5) and service (rated 2/5) detracted significantly from the experience.
