Excellent Wine Pairing and Service
My experience at the restaurant was excellent. We chose the wine pairing, and it was highly recommended. The food and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the atmosphere was also rated a 5. The noise level was very quiet, making for a pleasant dining experience.

Exceptional Value and Superb Experience

Exceptional Tasting Experience!
My experience at this restaurant was one of the top two tasting experiences in the country. Chef Harrison and the entire team delivered an exceptional evening. Standout dishes included the venison with elderberry and the beautifully executed halibut. The beverage pairing was extraordinary, highlighted by the Clos Rougeard, which was easily the best red wine I’ve ever tasted. Service was warm, personal, and thoughtful, with each chef introducing themselves throughout the meal. I truly can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is fully deserving of Top 50 recognition and even 3-star accolades. Huge thanks to Chef Harrison, Alexis, Chimay, Alex, Frida, David, Joe, Evan, and the whole team.

Perfectly Executed Dishes and Service
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful. I enjoyed the Nordik influence, which reminded me of my trips to Sweden and Copenhagen. The dishes were executed perfectly, with right portions and seasoning. While I considered what might make it a 3-star experience, perhaps a more high-end renovation or a spacier layout with little extras or innovation, I doubt they would even care, nor should they. They should just keep executing perfect dishes accompanied by the great service. It was also very classy, with no SF mandate surcharge. If I lived in this city, this would certainly be a routine visit, as I'm sure the menu changes seasonally. Very well done.

Exceptional Tasting Menu Experience
My experience at this restaurant was thoughtful, intentional, and kind. We opted for the tasting menu with a wine pairing, which I highly recommend if you enjoy wine. Each dish was a "little symphony, " with the starters, savory dishes, and desserts artfully presented like a game match: warm-up, full speed, and cool-down. The focus on sustainable and local sourcing was greatly appreciated. It was worth every penny, and I will definitely be returning and bringing family.

Delicious Food, Friendly Staff, Great Ambiance
My experience at the restaurant was really good! I was impressed with the food quality and how nicely presented everything was. I particularly enjoyed their green apple juice with douglas fir, which was really good. The staff were very friendly, and it was a cool touch when they placed our dishes in sync. The atmosphere was also great, being quiet and easy to talk.

Beautiful Ambiance, Great Service, Good Food
My experience at the restaurant was wonderful. The dining area was beautiful, and the service was wonderful. The food was good, and I especially loved the stories behind each of the dishes and hearing about where they were made. The drink pairings were fun. My only suggestion is that the coffee could have been stronger.

Exceptional Meal and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of the best meal I've ever had to date. The food, staff, and ambiance were better than perfection. If you enjoy interesting, bright, fermented, and complex flavors, this is the meal for you. As a solo diner, they made me feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. An Elegant Culinary Journey with Exceptional Service
My second visit to this restaurant, following a highly positive first experience, was met with even higher expectations, especially after they'd won a second star. The food continued to impress with its unfussed elegant approach to cooking, emphasizing sourcing from small artisans and sustainability. Each dish felt more defined by its origin and the 'why' behind the ingredients than the precise cooking methods. I experienced a delightful freshness and intensity of flavour in everything I ate, which felt quite novel. Unlike some tasting menus that can be overly rich, this was comfortably enjoyable. Standout dishes included the scallop with cured pork and turnip and the smoked duck, though all dishes were absolutely delicious. The attentiveness of the staff was remarkable; it seemed every member of the front of house and kitchen team served one of the 18 courses. As a solo diner, this was greatly appreciated, as it prevented any potential awkwardness or monotony. Their warmth and charm truly elevated the entire experience. For anyone interested in New Nordic cuisine at this caliber on the west coast, this restaurant is a must-visit. Thank you to the entire team at S&D for an incredible evening! 👏👏
