Efficient phone ordering saved the day!
My experience at the restaurant was great. Despite a long line to place order, I cleverly used my phone to order and received my food before those who were in front of me even placed their orders. This made for a great experience.

Fast Service, Great Tacos!
My experience at this restaurant was great! The ordering process was relatively quick, and the food came out very fast, which was impressive considering how busy they were. The tacos were great.

Great Food, Minor Door Issue
My experience at the restaurant was largely positive, primarily due to the consistently great food. This is why we keep coming back. The servers were friendly, nice, and helpful.
The only problem we encountered was a broken door to the patio that kept locking us out. Despite attempts to tape it, the solution was not effective and looked tacky.

Great Team, Hot Food, Accurate Order!
My experience at Rubio's was fantastic! The team there is truly great. The food arrived hot and I didn't have to wait long.
They ensured my order was accurate. The salsa, drink, and utensil areas were consistently clean, and the tables were always being wiped down even when they weren't taking orders. It's a great team, and I'm thankful for their excellent service.

Disappointing Experience with Wrong Order and No Guac
My experience at this restaurant was overall very disappointing. We visited on a Sunday night and left feeling underwhelmed. My wife and I both ordered California bowls.
While the worker's friendliness wasn't a major issue, the main problem arose when our food was served. My order was incorrect; I received Mexican rice instead of citrus rice, and there was barely any guacamole. To make matters worse, my wife's bowl had no guacamole at all.
When she inquired, she was informed the restaurant had run out, with no prior mention or offer to compensate for this key ingredient. The service was very poor, and the food did not taste very good. It was a huge disappointment!

Rubios Has Gone Downhill
My experience at Rubios used to be great, but this place and other locations in San Diego have tanked. The portions are small and the prices are higher. I believe this overrated chain will soon be bankrupt.
Good riddance.

Terrible Food and Service
My experience at this restaurant was quite negative. The food was cold, overcooked, and dry, making it inedible. I ordered the trio on a Tuesday special for $10.
99, and it tasted horrible. I would not try this again. The service was also a major issue; the restaurant was understaffed, and customers were completely forgotten about, not receiving their food.
The manager seemed overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. Despite the Tuesday specials running for years, there's no efficient system in place to handle customers. They definitely need a new manager.
The atmosphere was the same as other Rubio's locations and was clean.

Delicious Tacos - Must Try!
My experience at this place was fantastic, especially with their street chicken tacos. I also highly recommend the OG fish tacos; you really can't go wrong with either choice. The food was excellent, and I'd definitely return.

Consistently Great Food and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was consistently great. For a family dinner, I ordered multiple items, sides, and condiments for takeout, and everything was perfect. The staff were also extra great!

Rubio's Decline: A Disappointing Experience
I've been a loyal customer of this Rubio's location for many years, but unfortunately, it has significantly declined in the past few months. It seems there's been a change in ownership or management, and it hasn't been for the better. While Rubio's is a chain and theoretically should offer consistent food quality, that's not the case here.
My usual order, the Ancho Citrus Shrimp Burrito, used to be packed with shrimp, but recently, I've only found three or four small pieces, making it essentially a bean burrito. The Original Fish Taco has also suffered; the fish is consistently soggy, lacking the expected crunchiness, as if it were fried in advance and left to sit. During my most recent visit, they were out of most salsas, and the iced tea had a strong, unpleasant moldy taste.
It's no surprise that Rubio's has filed for bankruptcy. It's a shame, as Rubio's was once fantastic before it became a large franchise.
