Disappointing Curry Experience
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing, particularly with the food. While the owner/cook was nice, the dish I ordered, which was supposed to be curry, turned out to be an absolutely tasteless fish sauce soup. I was expecting curry, but what I received was far from it.

Long wait for delivery drivers
If you drive for DoorDash or Uber Eats, avoid this place because you'll end up waiting 20-30 minutes to pick up the order.

Meechai: Master Class Thai Food
I make it a point to get takeout from Meechai at least once a month. Having experienced Thai cuisine from numerous restaurants across San Diego and internationally, I can confidently say that Meechai's dishes are not only good but also unreasonably priced. Some of their offerings are truly a Master Class in Thai food!
My personal favorites are the Tom Ka Gai soup and the Penang Chicken. I highly recommend ordering the soup spicy for an invigorating internal cleanse and a burst of flavor. It's hands down the absolute best around.

Rad Owner, Delicious Food, Worth Every Penny!
My experience at this spot was fantastic! The owner is truly rad, handling everything from cooking to serving with incredible dedication. The food is consistently delicious.
While some mention tipping, I believe if you can't afford to tip well, you shouldn't dine out. I've been a loyal customer for years, and the food remains both delicious and affordable.

Delicious Food and Attentive Owner!
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful. The food was good, and the owner was incredibly nice and attentive. I even asked for her recipe!
I enjoyed everything she brought to the table. The sticky mango rice was the absolute highlight, with its perfect sweetness and texture.

Horrible Food and Unacceptable Tip Request
I visited this restaurant twice, but I will never return, even though it's close to my friend's house. My experience was horrible. The food was served somewhat cold and tasted like leftovers.
To make matters worse, at the end of the meal, the staff asked for a 20 or 25% tip, which is completely unacceptable.

Odd Meat and Tip Screen Issues
My experience at this restaurant was quite unusual. The restaurant was empty when we arrived for dinner. When it came to paying for a to-go order, the owner hid the tip screen and insisted on an 18% or 20% tip.
I also noticed that the menu in store did not match the current restaurant name, suggesting it might be from a previous establishment. The meat in my dish tasted odd, described as bitter, and I suspect it was off.

Great Food, Worth a Return Visit
My experience at this restaurant was very positive, especially regarding the food. We stopped by while in the area and were impressed. We tried the yellow curry chicken and the drunken noodles, both of which were very good.
It's notable that the same owner has been cooking for 20 years. The atmosphere was good, though it could be enhanced with some Thai music. Overall, we had a great meal and will be back next time we are in Point Loma.

Dry Chicken Instead of Beef
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing due to a mix-up with my order. I ordered beef but received dry, hard chicken instead. While the curry itself was good, the incorrect protein made it difficult to enjoy.
Since I ordered take-out, I didn't have the order fixed.

Authentic Thai Gem with a Heart
Today was my first visit to this restaurant, and my boyfriend and I had lunch here. He enjoyed the chicken pad Thai, while I savored the panang curry. Having tried various Thai restaurants, I can confidently say this is one of the best!
The lunch portion was generous, including an egg roll, salad, and rice (with the panang curry). My panang curry was cooked perfectly with an abundance of vegetables. The chicken pad Thai was excellent; the white meat was tender and delicious.
The restaurant's presentation was also impressive, featuring authentic Thai statues and decorations complemented by soothing Asian instrumental music. There was a bit of a wait, as the owner is currently the sole operator, working as the cook and server due to the cook's stroke and inability to find help. I highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates authentic Thai cuisine.
It's a small business run by its owner, so please be kind and supportive.
