My experience at this restaurant was disappointing, particularly with the food. While the owner/cook was nice, the dish I ordered, which was supposed to be curry, turned out to be an absolutely tasteless fish sauce soup. I was expecting curry, but what I received was far from it. 📋

If you drive for DoorDash or Uber Eats, avoid this place because you'll end up waiting 20-30 minutes to pick up the order.

I make it a point to get takeout from Meechai at least once a month. Having experienced Thai cuisine from numerous restaurants across San Diego and internationally, I can confidently say that Meechai's dishes are not only good but also unreasonably priced. Some of their offerings are truly a Master Class in Thai food! My personal favorites are the Tom Ka Gai soup and the Penang Chicken. I highly recommend ordering the soup spicy for an invigorating internal cleanse and a burst of flavor. It's hands down the absolute best around.

While some mention tipping, I believe if you can't afford to tip well, you shouldn't dine out. I've been a loyal customer for years, and the food remains both delicious and affordable.

Today was my first visit to this restaurant, and my boyfriend and I had lunch here. He enjoyed the chicken pad Thai, while I savored the panang curry. Having tried various Thai restaurants, I can confidently say this is one of the best! The lunch portion was generous, including an egg roll, salad, and rice (with the panang curry). My panang curry was cooked perfectly with an abundance of vegetables. The chicken pad Thai was excellent; the white meat was tender and delicious. The restaurant's presentation was also impressive, featuring authentic Thai statues and decorations complemented by soothing Asian instrumental music. There was a bit of a wait, as the owner is currently the sole operator, working as the cook and server due to the cook's stroke and inability to find help. I highly recommend this place for anyone who appreciates authentic Thai cuisine. It's a small business run by its owner, so please be kind and supportive.
