Excellent Food, Service, and Ambiance!
My experience at this restaurant was excellent! The cuisine was outstanding, and the servers were both professional & personable. The interior offered an intimate & charming atmosphere, complemented by a lovely ambiance.
I would definitely recommend stopping by for lunch or happy hour. Don't forget to try the Tiramisu 😀.

Excellent Chilean Seabass and Atmosphere
I had a wonderful experience at Dobson's. A local friend recommended it, sharing its rich history. The appetizer was good, and the Chilean Seabass was excellent.
The server was very friendly, and the atmosphere was amazing. I will definitely return next time I'm in San Diego.

Mixed Feelings: Great Bisque, Lamb Too Strong
My experience at the restaurant involved a lively bar scene around 5: 45 PM, which cleared out by 7 PM. We opted for a corner seat at the bar as all tables were occupied. The mussels bisque was absolutely incredible!
However, the lamb had a taste that was too strong for my preference, and I didn't really enjoy it.

Disappointing Service, Okay Food
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing. We had to wait a long time to be greeted at the entrance, and it felt like our presence was a surprise. While the other food was okay, the crème brûlée was pretty bad.

Exceptional Italian Meal in San Diego
During our 2021 vacation in San Diego, we stumbled upon Dobson's, and if I ever return, it will be solely for this restaurant. Despite arriving late, we were treated like VIPs. The bar buzzed with conversation and laughter. We were seated upstairs, and I ordered the shrimp linguine.
As someone from New Jersey with a mother from Philadelphia, I typically wouldn't order Italian on the West Coast, but I'm so glad I did. It was by far the best meal I ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, with the mushrooms and tomatoes perfectly balancing the cream.
My husband enjoyed the filet mignon, and the chef even prepared a special off-menu chicken Alfredo for our son. The chef's kindness and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my son had a meal he liked were remarkable. This chef truly knows what he's doing and is absolutely killing it.

Good Food and Prompt Service
I had a positive experience at this restaurant. Although I visited a long time ago, I remember the food was good. Recently, I was in the area and decided to return for a salad.
After being seated, the waiter promptly took my order and delivered the salad quickly. The salad was good, and the service was prompt. I also noticed the French onion soup looked very appealing, and I plan to try it on my next visit.

Outstanding Filet Mignon and Excellent Service
I flew in from New Jersey specifically to try their mussel bisque soup, and it was indeed as good as advertised. My main course, the Filet Mignon with escargot and garlic sauce, was outstanding. I chose to sit at the bar area, and the bartender, Mike, provided excellent service.
He was personable and attentive, ensuring my water glass was never empty.

Wonderful Meal Before a Show
We had a wonderful meal before seeing a show at the theater. It's hard to imagine eating anywhere else before a show at the civic theater.
