Mixed Feelings: Great Bisque, Lamb Too Strong
My experience at the restaurant involved a lively bar scene around 5: 45 PM, which cleared out by 7 PM. We opted for a corner seat at the bar as all tables were occupied. The mussels bisque was absolutely incredible! However, the lamb had a taste that was too strong for my preference, and I didn't really enjoy it.

Disappointing Service, Okay Food
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing. We had to wait a long time to be greeted at the entrance, and it felt like our presence was a surprise. While the other food was okay, the crème brûlée was pretty bad.

Exceptional Italian Meal in San Diego
During our 2021 vacation in San Diego, we stumbled upon Dobson's, and if I ever return, it will be solely for this restaurant. Despite arriving late, we were treated like VIPs. The bar buzzed with conversation and laughter. We were seated upstairs, and I ordered the shrimp linguine. As someone from New Jersey with a mother from Philadelphia, I typically wouldn't order Italian on the West Coast, but I'm so glad I did. It was by far the best meal I ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, with the mushrooms and tomatoes perfectly balancing the cream. My husband enjoyed the filet mignon, and the chef even prepared a special off-menu chicken Alfredo for our son. The chef's kindness and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my son had a meal he liked were remarkable. This chef truly knows what he's doing and is absolutely killing it.
