Delicious Sushi, Mild Wasabi
My experience at this quaint little sushi restaurant was overwhelmingly positive. The staff were super friendly, and the food was really good. Although I was initially worried about trying raw seafood for the first time, I was greatly surprised and found it to be delicious. My only minor critique is that the Wasabi was too mild.

Mind-Blowing Omakase on Mission Street
My experience at this restaurant was an absolute delight! I visited based on a co-worker's recommendation, expecting ordinary sushi, but I was incredibly wrong. This place is mind-blowing. The omakase was the best I've ever had outside of Japan, featuring incredibly fresh ingredients. The service was also fun and friendly. I make it a point to stop here every time I'm in San Francisco, as the trip wouldn't be complete without it.

Great Food, Limited Vegan Options
My one complaint is the lack of vegan / vegetarian options on the lunch special bento box menu. The lunch special bento box is exclusively for fish, beef, pork, and chicken. I inquired about substituting agedashi tofu as the protein for my bento box and was informed they would need to consult with the boss. In the interim, I had to order from the all-day menu. I opted for the sweet potato tempura roll, which had a delicately crispy, pillowy soft bite to it – a lovely contrast. I also enjoyed the wakame su, a cucumber and seaweed salad that was light and refreshing on this hot day! The next time I dine at Amami Sushi Bistro, I sincerely hope to see a vegan or vegetarian option added to the LSBB. Fingers crossed!
