Great GF/DF Options & Cocktails!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! I was impressed with the great gluten and dairy-free options available. The modern cocktails were also a highlight, and I especially loved the mescal hibiscus margarita 🥰.
The food and atmosphere both received a perfect 5/5 rating, and the price per person was between $20–30.

Delicious Food, Charming Atmosphere, Slow Service
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, centered around the delicious food and cute atmosphere. The food was so good that we ate a lot and practically waddled home! The servers were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome, never rushing us.
They also provided great recommendations and were kind enough to turn on the outdoor heaters when requested. However, the service was a little slow, seemingly due to a small staff of three working very hard. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I will definitely eat here again!

A Neighborhood Gem for Cocktails and Bites
This is my go-to spot in the Richmond. If I'm looking for a chill neighborhood place to enjoy a great cocktail and a bite, this is it. I love sitting at the bar to watch a game and have a drink and a snack, especially the Old Bay chips and onion dip!
It's also a perfect place for a date night, offering a proper intimate evening. They have a wide selection of drinks, including wine, beer, and cocktails. For food, I highly recommend trying the fried chicken or the mussels.
The deviled eggs are also exceptional. I appreciate that the atmosphere is not too noisy, allowing for easy conversation. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming.
It's a true neighborhood gem, and I highly recommend it.

Disappointing Experience with Food and Service
I feel bad leaving a "bad" review, as I have not done this before, but I did not have an enjoyable experience here, unfortunately. To start, the waitress was not friendly and did not check in with me while I was there. I understand it was busy, and she may have been having a bad day.
But the only time she checked in, she asked, "Do you need something? " as I was waiting to order another drink and simply looking in her direction. I felt rushed to leave.
I had also ordered some food. The fries were crispy-looking and very over-oiled. I shouldn't have eaten them, as I ended up getting sick at 1 AM.
Someone I also shared them with felt ill as well. And upon checking my receipt after leaving, I realized I was charged for a more expensive drink I didn't end up getting because they were out. Sigh.
I really wanted to love it here, but I won't be back anytime soon : (

Disappointing Experience with Trash and Overpriced Food
I'm lowering my rating to 1 star due to the constant trash left by Violets all over the sidewalk and street. Every morning, garbage is strewn across the corner, indicating the business doesn't care about its community. Regarding the food, it's wildly overpriced.
The burger was bland and cost three times as much as comparable burgers at Bill's, located just a short distance away. While the cocktails and vibe were of quality, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here.

Delicious Food, Grumpy Service
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food here is absolutely delicious, and the vibes are way better under new ownership. However, the service is mid at best, with the food staff often grumpy.
While the bartenders are great and super funny, some runners/waiters are grumpy and rude, seeming annoyed that guests are coming in. They should reconsider offering late reservations if they're going to be rude. Despite the service issues, the pastelitos and prime rib are my two absolute favorite meals in SF.

Mixed Feelings on Tacos and Fried Chicken
My experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. The appetizers, specifically the apps hit and deviled eggs, were excellent. My main course, the tacos, were just edible and not particularly memorable, especially considering their commonality in California.
However, my companions enjoyed their main dishes. The fried chicken was also a hit among others. Overall, the food received a 3/5, service a 5/5, and atmosphere a 4/5.

Disappointing Food, Solid Service
This used to be a favorite spot for myself and my fiance. After a few months away due to work, we were looking forward to returning. The service was solid, but the food was a different story.
The menu had been updated, and we decided to try new dishes. My partner's pulled pork sandwich was described as sauceless, poorly seasoned, and incredibly fatty, tasting mainly of salt and pork fat. I ordered the cioppino, a personal favorite, and was similarly disappointed.
It lacked the expected stew-like broth, and the seafood didn't seem to absorb any flavor from the broth served. I was hoping for a classic with a Latin flair, but instead received unseasoned seafood that appeared to be prepared separately from the stew, resulting in a bland mix that neither of us enjoyed. While I don't mean to be overly harsh, the dishes I sampled definitely needed improvement.
On a positive note, all the cocktails were lovely and well-crafted. However, I cannot say the same for the food; it was far from it. Given the price point of over $40 for a subpar entree, it's hard to justify.

Overpriced with Mixed Food Experiences
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag, largely due to the overpriced nature of the dishes, which seems to be a common theme in San Francisco. While the arancinis were genuinely good, setting a high expectation for the rest of the meal, the reality was different. The cocktail I ordered was decent but not worth the $16 price tag.
I was particularly disappointed by the fried chicken with Mac n cheese. The chicken itself was good, but it really needed a sauce. The Mac n cheese was more like a liquidy cream sauce, tasting predominantly of creme fraiche with minimal cheese flavor, seasoned only with salt and pepper.
The portion size for the Mac n cheese was also very small, which was a letdown. My husband's pulled pork sandwich was just okay, and the accompanying fries were not great. The service was adequate, nothing special.
Overall, the meal was not exceptional, and I wonder if other dishes might be better.
