Delectable French Cuisine with a View
My experience at this small and intimate restaurant and bar was incredibly positive. The French cuisine was incredibly delectable, and everything we tried was SOOO good! The portions were perfectly sized. The location is awesome, situated right on the water with a cruise dock out back, making it a perfect location for photos with views of the bay bridge. Be ready to spend a pretty penny 😁.

Atmosphere Great, Meat Disappointing
Welp, the vibe was atmospheric, with the rotating music serving as the soundtrack of my twenties. The overall vibe of the restaurant was intimate, with folks chatting, chewing, and sipping. The staff was, at different points, a tad impatient, which was challenging as we were a group of well over 60 with a process and a timeline. The Cesar Salad was delicious, though I didn't agree to this intimate spot just for the salad. I went for the meat, but I left Bon Delire with my meat in a brown paper bag. I prefer my meat well done, but mine came with an extra side of 'moo' that was too red for me to consume. If the chef prefers their meat a certain way, why ask a customer 'how would you like that'? I like my meat done, no matter the price.

Disappointing Anniversary Dinner Experience
My anniversary dinner experience here was marred by several issues. We were seated at a corner counter, despite arriving early for our reservation and offering to wait for a table, while a later walk-in was seated at a table. The host stated the earliest table availability was 8: 45 PM for our 6: 15 PM reservation. For a $180 meal, attention to detail was lacking. I almost choked on a fish bone in the cod special, and a server's dismissive reaction to this incident was unprofessional. The server who took our order never checked in. While one runner was kind and kept our water filled, and the ambiance with its vibes and music was enjoyable, it couldn't mask the overall disorganization and lack of detail. The manager or owner, who was not in uniform, checked on other guests but not us, leaving us feeling ignored, possibly due to our seating location. This experience unfortunately ruined our anniversary meal.

Disappointing French-Inspired Spot
My experience at this French-inspired spot on the Embarcadero was underwhelming. The food was mediocre at best, and the burger was quite pricy for what it was. I requested it be cooked medium, but it arrived much pinker than expected. The pricing felt like American standards with French portion sizes, with truffle fries at $20, a $22 burger that was more like a slider, and a $9 mini baguette with butter. I didn't complain because our waiter was forgetful. The wait time from order to service was about 45 minutes, and we observed other diners who arrived later receiving their orders first. To add to the frustration, the host didn't mark my reservation as complete, leading to my OpenTable account being suspended.

Best Steak and Intimate Vibe
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional. I had the best steak I’ve had in a long time! I really loved the place and the vibe, as it’s fairly small and intimate. I came for a solo dinner while away with work and sat at the bar. The two guys at the bar were fab and attentive, and the food was truly the best I’ve had in a long time. I would definitely recommend this place for its great food, staff, and general vibe.

Passable food, terrible service
My experience at this restaurant started positively but quickly declined. We faced slow service, with our entrees arriving long after other diners who arrived later. The waiter displayed a flat affect, lacking any personality. To make matters worse, they failed to mark our attendance, leading to my partner's Opentable account being suspended. The food was at least passable, which is the only reason for the mediocre rating.

Charming French Spot with Small Portions
Right on the pier by the ferry building, this cute little French restaurant had a solid menu for lunch. We had to sit outside because we didn't make a reservation, so make sure to try and get one if you want to sit indoors. The portions are extremely small, but maybe expected for a French restaurant lol. We ended up ordering basically everything on the menu LOL. Very tasty food, extremely nice service, cute interior. Loved it!

Mixed Feelings on Food and Value
My experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. I enjoyed the peach salad, tartare, and bread, finding them to be good. The egg dish was just okay; it was a medium-boiled egg with mayo and bacon sauce. While I didn't care for the escargot's texture, the butter sauce was excellent and perfect for dipping the bread. However, I felt the Prosciutto charcuterie was a rip-off at $15 for just prosciutto, pickles, and mustard, especially since it didn't come with crackers. The waiter recommended ordering bread to accompany it, which was an additional charge.

A Heavenly French Bistro Experience!
I visited Bon Delire after reading a glowing review from a San Francisco food critic, and it was a must-do. The restaurant is described as a very cool French bistro generating a lot of buzz. I arrived during the 3 to 5 pm Happy Hour. My experience began with a classic martini made with French vodka, which was great. For starters, I tried the suggested chicken croquettes, which were superb! Next, I indulged in the critic's recommended croquet madame ham sandwich, and it was stupendous! For dessert, the only option is the madeleines. They were warm, lightly crisp, and served with vanilla & chocolate sauces – truly heavenly! The staff, including Liz the receptionist and mixologists Michelle and Lulu, were SO pleasant, professional, and willing to interact with me, a single senior citizen diner. I'm confident the entire menu is outstanding based on my wonderful and memorable experience! I highly recommend not missing Bon Delire on the Embarcadero.
