Exceptional Dining Experience at The Pearl 6101
My dining experience at The Pearl 6101 in San Francisco was absolutely wonderful. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The Japanese sweet potatoes were an unexpected standout, perfectly roasted with a caramelized edge that made them both comforting and elegant.
The kampachi crudo was bright and fresh, with a delicate balance of flavors that let the fish shine. The scallops were seared to perfection, tender and buttery, while the lamb pasta was rich, deeply flavorful, and one of the most satisfying pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time. You can tell the kitchen puts real care and creativity into every plate.
What made the evening even more special was the exceptional service. Our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely taken care of without ever being intrusive. From start to finish, The Pearl delivered a warm, refined, and memorable dining experience.
I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Disappointing Experience, Average Food
I came in with higher hopes but unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was a let down. The starters were just mid, specifically the tartare and crab hush puppies. While the mains were slightly better, they were nothing out of the ordinary.
I ordered the handkerchief and seared scallops. On the positive side, the scallops were well cooked. However, the overall experience didn't meet expectations, especially considering the service was rated low.

Oysters Caused Sickness, Dismissive Service
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. The outdoor space was lovely and the staff during our visit were friendly. Unfortunately, all four of us became sick with food poisoning afterward, with oysters being the only shared dish.
I recognize oysters carry risk, but when I called to let the restaurant know, the response I received felt dismissive rather than concerned. A more empathetic and professional acknowledgment would have made a difference. This interaction has ultimately discouraged me from returning.

Top 3 SF Restaurant with Amazing Food
Hands-down one of my top 3 restaurants in SF. The menu always has familiar dishes but with changes to how they're prepared which keeps everything interesting. Their wine list changes regularly as well and always has a great selection across price ranges.
Highly recommend ordering a spicy mezcal margarita - my favorite margarita in the city. The whole menu is amazing - especially the oysters, crispy prosciutto caesar, all the pastas, hangar steak and I could go on. Atmosphere and the staff are also great.
My one ask - please bring back brunch!

Exceptional Service and Delicious Food!
My experience at this restaurant was truly incredible. The service was outstanding, with Kat being the best server I've had in a long time. Her upbeat attitude, quick and effective service, and proper recommendations made our night.
The food was also DELICIOUS. I tried the white bolognese for the first time and now I can't stop craving it. The octopus appetizer was prepared perfectly, even impressing those initially reluctant to try it.
Most of the staff seemed genuinely invested in their work. When our heater malfunctioned, it was promptly resolved with a new propane tank. My lost bracelet was found by Kat's attentive eye and kept safe by the ethical staff.
The only minor hiccup was a bit of attitude from the host upon arrival, but it didn't detract from the otherwise perfect evening. Thank you again, Kat!

Exceptional Food and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was truly exciting and delicious. Our server, Daniel, made the evening extra special. He was as exciting as the food, which I must say is EXCEPTIONAL.
One of the managers, a woman with long red hair, was also very caring and attentive. We were celebrating three birthdays, and she went out of her way to make us feel celebrated, as did Daniel. The chef and menu are brilliant.
We will definitely go back!

Homey Food, Lacking That Extra Spark
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was good, evoking a sense of grandma's cooking, which was very homey. However, I constantly found myself comparing it to similar dishes from other restaurants, feeling it was missing that extra element on execution that would have elevated the dish to its full potential.
The atmosphere was rated a 4, and the service a 5, indicating a pleasant environment and good service. Despite the food not reaching its peak, it's clear the food resonates with people, as there's constantly a long line and crowded.

Expertly Cooked Scallops, Great for Sharing
I visited this restaurant for the first time last week. It was packed on a Thursday, not even 20 minutes after opening. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the oysters and the scallops.
I was pleasantly surprised to receive 4 scallops with my entree, and they were cooked expertly. While I enjoyed the dish overall, it's not very filling. This is a great place to share multiple plates with a couple of people.
I will be back.
