Bug in Mala Tang Disappointing
I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times and usually they do a pretty good job. Unfortunately, this time I found a bug in my mala tang, which was very disappointing. I hope the restaurant can pay more attention to the cleanliness of their kitchen in the future.
I still hope they can improve, because my past experiences were generally good.

Good Malatang, Pricey Dry Pot
My experience at this restaurant offered a good food selection, particularly for malatang, with many items to choose from. I found that adding $2 for the dry pot was worthwhile, as it was really good. However, the pricey nature of the dry pot and the small rice portion were drawbacks.
The restaurant gets super busy during lunchtime.

Best Spicy Hot Pot in San Diego
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The plates were very clean, and there was a wide variety of food available. The pricing is convenient at $13.
99 per pound, which works well whether you eat a lot or just a little. I found it to be the best spicy hot pot in San Diego.

Good Food, Terrible Cashier Attitude
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was good, and I found the boss to be nice. However, the experience was significantly marred by the cashier, described as a dude with a cap, glasses, and blue hair.
When I inquired about the soup options and their differences, he responded with the nastiest attitude imaginable, making me feel ridiculed for not understanding. Despite the good food, I will opt for takeout only from now on due to this service issue.

Great Malatang, Terrible Service
The malatang here is solid, genuinely on par with our favorite spot in LA. Bonus points for serving filtered water, which I appreciate. However, the service and organization of this restaurant were terrible.
While I understand the manager's attempt to make it more of a sit-down experience, it felt unnecessary compared to other malatang places. My boyfriend and I endured a 40-minute wait, which is unheard of at similar establishments. This wait was worsened by the manager's personal seating of tables and the staff's neglect of those waiting, even with three empty tables.
The manager was friendly, but efficiency should be prioritized. The encounter with the cashier was particularly unpleasant. When asked about spice levels, he spoke too quickly and under his breath.
Upon asking him to repeat, he seemed annoyed and standoffish, repeating it slowly as if mocking us. It's a shame because the actual food is really good.

Authentic Malatang, Great Experience!
I’m so glad I found this place! The broth is flavorful, rich, and authentic — just like the Zhangliang Malatang I used to have back in China. The ingredient selection is fresh and well-organized, and the portion sizes are very generous.
You can customize everything to your own taste, which is perfect whether you like mild, spicy, or extra spicy. The staff here are friendly and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. The ordering process is easy, and the food comes out fast.
This spot has definitely become one of my favorite places for a satisfying meal. Highly recommend to anyone who loves malatang or just wants something warm and delicious!

Delicious and Fresh Meal!
Just the two of us came to eat. We ordered a medium-spicy bone broth and a stir-fried spicy pot. Both were super tasty and the ingredients were really fresh.
They’ve got four other flavors too, including non-spicy and veggie options. Definitely worth giving it a try!

Amazing Malatang with Long Wait
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, especially regarding the food, which was amazing with a lot of options. The service was pretty good too. However, the wait was pretty long, and I wish everything was a little bit more clean.
Overall, it's a good malatang place!

Delicious Soup and Great Service
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! It's one of the best spots for a quick bowl of soup. I loved that they offer both meat and veggie options, exactly to my liking, and even seafood options to add.
I personally enjoyed the spicy bone broth with beef, lamb, and plenty of veggies. The service was quick, friendly, and professional, and the tables and food area were kept very clean. I'll definitely be coming back.

Great Flavor, Minor Texture Issue
I was craving this place since I left Singapore. The photo on the right shows my takeaway order from an overseas Zhangliang, while the pic on the left is from the restaurant on Convoy. Both offered the great same flavor and great same price!
My only tiny issue is the added potato slices; I don't like their texture.
