Shocking Prices for Simple Chinese Food
I placed an order for pickup, which was just a sweet and sour dish with rice. When I arrived and saw the total amount to be $26, I was shocked to say the least. Just because it's Seattle doesn't mean that a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant should be charging such an astronomical price for something that doesn't cost much to make.
The fact that my card wasn't accepted (Amex) was a blessing in disguise.

Tasteless Food, No Service or Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was primarily as a take out place, meaning there was virtually no service and no atmosphere. The food was surprisingly and truly tasteless. It felt like they could have operated the restaurant without purchasing any salt.

Excellent mild option for sensitive stomachs!
I informed the owner working the counter about my chemotherapy and my need for something mild and easy on the stomach. He did a fantastic job recommending a dish. As someone who isn't an adventurous eater, I found his choice of garlic chicken w/ green beans to be perfect.
I had never tried anything like it before, and I thought it was great! It was indeed very easy on my stomach. I'd rate this experience 11/10 and will definitely be returning frequently while I'm in treatment.

Bland Food, Nice Staff
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing, primarily due to the food quality. I found the Chinese food to be the most bland I've ever had. The wonton soup lacked any vegetables, not even scallions.
The bbq pork appetizer was served cold and was flavorless, with a combination of horseradish, ketchup, and sesame seeds that did not improve it. The beef brisket hot pot was just okay, which is the only reason I'm giving a second star. The restaurant also had a noticeable smell of mildew.
On a positive note, the staff were nice.

Tasteless Food, Disappointing Service
My experience at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. The food was the most tasteless I've ever had. While I appreciate not using MSG, the lack of other spices to add flavor was a major letdown.
We ordered takeout and specifically requested small cups for soup to bring to my grandson at the Children's hospital. To our dismay, we not only didn't receive the promised containers but also got zero utensils and not one napkin. It was so disappointing to spend so much money on what felt like crap.
I'd give zero stars if I could. YUCK!

Steel Wool in Food, Still Charged
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. I ordered the beef chow fun, and just before finishing, I discovered a piece of steel wool debris in my meal. I brought this to the staff's attention, expecting them to waive the charge given the situation.
However, they insisted on making me pay the full amount as if nothing had happened. Due to this experience, I definitely won't be returning.

Classic Chinese Takeout Gem
My experience at Yummy Cafe was fantastic when I was craving classic Chinese takeout. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was seriously good – it was crispy, creamy, and not overly sweet. The portions were generous, and the service was quick.
Everything we tried hit the spot. I would definitely order again.

Yummy Cafe: A Seattle Gem!
My experience at Yummy Cafe was fantastic! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, great portions, and so much flavor in every bite.
I highly recommend the General Tso’s Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp!

Consistently Delicious Chinese Food!
🌟 My Go-To Chinese Spot! 🌟 I’ve been coming to this Chinese restaurant for a while now, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, but the real star of the show?
The green beans. I don’t know what magic they put in them, but I could eat them every single time—and I do! Perfectly seasoned, crispy yet tender, and packed with flavor.
The rest of the menu is just as satisfying, with generous portions and a great balance of spice and savor. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and it always feels like a treat to eat here. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go.
And whatever you order—make sure the green beans are on your plate. You’ll thank me later.

Missed Yummy Cafe's Comfort Food
When we lived just up the street, we were at Yummy Cafe at least a couple nights a week. Vivian and Wei are so kind, and the Cantonese comfort food was always a huge draw on busy weeknights. We've since moved away, but I still miss their chicken/salty fish fried rice, garlic sauteed pea vines, and salt and pepper tofu and chicken wings.
