Disappointing Value for Duck Course
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing due to a perceived reduction in value. Without lowering the price of the duck ($88), the restaurant removed the soup course, changing the meal from 3 courses to 2. I found the duck course, which previously included a delicious soup, no longer worth the price.
While the duck itself is delicious, the portion size is small. Even with two duck courses and three additional entrees, the food was not enough to feed our group of six. I hope they reconsider returning the soup to the duck course.

Amazing Food and Ambiance!
As a regular here, I can confidently say that my experience at this restaurant has been consistently amazing. The food is incredible, and I particularly loved every bite of the duck 🦆 fried rice. The service was very good, and the overall ambiance was amazing.
I can see myself continuing to come back here and highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Duck, Small Portions
My experience at the restaurant was marked by fantastic food, especially the duck skin, which was done perfectly well. While the portion size was small, which is to be expected, the quantity to price ratio might be leaning low. I would recommend the Peking duck and the vegetable with mushroom.
The atmosphere and service were rated a 4, with moderate noise levels.

Delicious Duck and Welcoming Staff!
My experience at this restaurant was delightful! We learned that you have to order the duck ahead of time or make a reservation for it. We didn't know this, but our server was very kind and managed to find us the last available duck.
It was so tasty, with crispy skin that melted in our mouths, making the whole experience great! I also highly recommend the green beans and the veggie dumplings; they were also delicious! The entire staff was very kind, and we felt very welcomed into the space.

Delicious Fish and Great Veggies
My experience at the restaurant was overwhelmingly positive, with the salt and pepper fish being an absolute standout. It was perfectly fried, light, and fluffy, with the salt perfectly balanced and the thinly sliced jalapenos providing a fantastic counterpoint. The sesame chicken, ordered for a child, was also sweet and good.
The YH Chow mein was great, and the veggie delight offered a wonderful mix of vegetables, particularly the sliced mushrooms and asparagus. Even the black buns with salted egg custard were top-notch. I enjoyed everything, but if I had to choose just one item, it would be the chow mein.
However, for a lunch special, I'd opt for the salt and pepper fish, some veggies, and steamed rice. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options, with several tofu and fake chicken dishes, and a dedicated vegetarian menu or section, making it highly recommendable for vegetarians. The atmosphere was quiet and conducive to conversation, and the service was excellent.

A Family Staple with Amazing Chow Fun
I've been ordering from this place for years, and it's always been a family staple. The quality of their chow fun is the greatest I've ever had, west or east coast – it's truly a taste of Hong Kong. The service is top-notch; they always accommodate my changes and requests without hassle.
Thank you for always preparing excellent quality and efficient service. See you next week!

Great Food, Disappointing Service Incident
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, with great food that earned a perfect score. However, the service had a significant drawback. While sitting by the bar, my partner and I witnessed a particular employee being berated by another staff member, who appeared to be a manager or supervisor.
This continued to the point where the employee was crying, yet the other person persisted in pestering her, making her feel worse. This behavior was incredibly unprofessional and mean-spirited. I hope this feedback reaches someone with the authority to address this toxic behavior from a superior towards an employee.
Aside from this incident, our visit was otherwise very great.

Mixed Feelings About YH
My experience at YH was a mixed bag. While the food we ordered, including string beans, chicken wings, mapo tofu, and chow fun, tasted fine and as expected, it didn't quite deliver the "wow" factor I was hoping for. The flavors leaned a bit more towards a western taste than authentic Chinese cuisine.
Unfortunately, we were unable to try the Peking duck as their oven malfunctioned, and we waited an hour for it. The service was generally good, with staff checking on us, but there were opportunities for more frequent refills and attentiveness. The staff were very friendly and handled the duck situation well.
The ambiance was casual with modern vibes and wonderful decor. However, my biggest letdown was the value. The price to portion ratio was not good, with smaller portions compared to other Chinese restaurants.
I wanted to love YH, but it didn't quite happen for me.

A Hidden Gem Worth Guarding
I want to keep this restaurant a secret! I hope it doesn't become too popular so I can always get a table without a wait. The food is heavenly, and the restaurant is squeaky clean and neat.
My pro tip: skip the usual chow mein or chow fun. This is a jasmine rice + family-style mains kind of spot. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
For reference, three entrees for three people was a lot – we had enough for breakfast the next day, with zero regrets. These dishes still live rent-free in my mind: Mongolian Beef, Basil Eggplant, Pot Stickers, Fried Calamari, General Tso's Chicken, and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce. If it’s your first time, order the eggplant menu.
You'll regret every day you spent not knowing it existed.

Best Peking Duck in San Francisco!
I've been searching for authentic pecking duck in the city for a while, and I've finally found it at YH! It's by far the best I've ever had in San Francisco. The duck itself is incredibly tender and juicy.
When wrapped together with the sauce, it truly hits the spot. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect 5/5 rating.
