Great Bar with No Gimmicks
My experience at this bar was great. It's a no-gimmick place with fast service, normal beer prices, and a good selection of booze. I appreciated that there was no pretentious cocktail menu.
It's never too packed after a surf, and there are several pool tables. The atmosphere was rated 5/5, and the service was also rated 5/5. Parking is free street parking, and the price per person is $10–20.
The wait time was non-existent, and it's suitable for all group sizes. The noise level is moderate.

Fun Vibe, But Bathroom Issues
My experience at this restaurant was generally fun, with a great bar and an awesome patio outside. The overall vibe is always fun, attracting a younger crowd. I'm giving it 4 stars, but they really need to acknowledge the bathroom situation.
There's only one toilet for guys, and my girlfriend reported the same for the women, which is outrageous considering people drink here!

Neat local spot with billiards
My experience at this restaurant was quite neat! It has a very local-only vibe, which I found appealing. The atmosphere was rated a 5 out of 5.
For entertainment, they offer billiards for a dollar a game, and there are chalkboards to sign up for the queue.

Great Hangout Spot
I like to sneak off to this cool hang out when I want to get out of East County. The atmosphere is a 5, and the food is a 4. Service also received a 5.
Finding parking can be somewhat difficult, though it is free street parking.

Great Atmosphere, Service Needs Improvement
My experience at this restaurant was marked by a great atmosphere and great bartenders. However, after a few visits, it's evident that service speed could be improved. Specifically, if the barstools were moved after 8: 30 PM, and people weren't allowed to 'camp' at the bar and had to stand, things would likely move quicker.

Fun lively environment, great service!
My experience at this restaurant was great! The bartenders were so nice and the environment was fun and lively on a Friday night. I didn’t try the food, but it looked tasty from what I saw.

Unsanitary Food and Rude Bartender
While walking home from the beach with friends, we decided to stop by West End for a beer. Upon entering through the patio, I noticed someone cooking on the side of the building. I inquired about what was being prepared and was told it was Philly Steak sandwiches.
Unfortunately, I immediately observed a lack of sanitation in the cooking area, with no refrigeration. Cooked chicken appeared to have been sitting at room temperature for hours, and the uncooked beef for the steak sandwiches was also unrefrigerated. This created a poor first impression.
My friends found a table on the patio while I went inside to the bar for beers. I waited at the end of the bar for about 10 minutes, trying to get the bartender's attention without success. I moved to the other side of the bar and continued to wait, observing the bartender's apparent inability to do his job.
Finally, I raised my hand, and the bartender responded with an attitude, asking, "What do you want? " This unprofessional and rude treatment of a customer is unacceptable. This is clearly not a place to get food due to the risk of food poisoning, nor is it a place to get beer because of the lousy and rude bartender.
