Authentic Japanese Gem in the Mission
I was pleasantly surprised to find myself returning to this perfect Japanese restaurant located in the heart of the Mission. The experience felt truly authentic, with most of the chefs being Japanese. The fish was perfect, and the overall atmosphere made me feel like I was in Japan! I highly recommend this place!

Good food, terrible service
My experience at this restaurant was marred by incredibly poor service. The waiter treated us like crap, and I would have given a lower rating if possible. While the food was good, the waiter's cold demeanor made it difficult to enjoy. They acted as if they were doing us a favor by serving us, which was quite off-putting. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had. Despite the decent food, I would never return.

Nostalgic Sushi Experience Delightful
I loved this place 25 years ago when it was in a different location near UCSF. Visiting again with the same name, I was pleasantly surprised that it retained much of its character. I learned to love sushi here, and the bite-size sushi pieces were just as I remember them, as they should be. Unlike many sushi places today, there was no need to bite into the pieces and have them fall apart. Thank you to whoever runs it these days. My order included Miso soup, a California roll, and tuna sashimi. Yummy 😋

Ordinary Sushi, Friendly Neighborhood Spot
My experience at this restaurant was that it's a nice friendly neighborhood place. The portions were large, and the prices were affordable. I ordered the teriyaki salmon dinner, which was nice and came with soup and salad, along with some mushy California roll slices. However, the nigiri sushi platter was of uneven quality and not as fresh as it could have been. Given the many great sushi restaurants in the vicinity, I don't think we will likely return.
