I’d give six stars if I could! This place makes you feel like you’re in a Japanese nook. I came here and it was closed, not realizing how limited the hours were, so I called in a reservation. This guy is amazing; a one-man show. This is the definition of intimate.

My experience at Wayo Sushi in San Francisco was great! The waitress was very attentive, and the sushi was fresh and full of flavor. I had two rolls and sashimi, and everything was delicious.

Despite the listed opening hours stating they are open until 8 PM, upon arrival, the door was locked with a sign indicating that reservations were required. I attempted to call and visit their website to make a reservation, but there was no response and no link to book. This lack of clear information and accessibility led to a poor experience.

My experience at Wayo Sushi was truly a MasterClass in Sushi. I've dined at high-end sushi establishments in Japan, and few can rival the expertise, quality, and class demonstrated here. During my visit, there was only one employee serving as both chef and waiter. I was incredibly impressed by the speed and attentiveness they displayed while managing multiple tables. It's a small, quiet shop, and while reservations are required, it makes for a perfect date night.

The restaurant is intimate, with only a few tables, and operates on a reservation-only basis. What sets it apart is the chef who skillfully manages both cooking and serving as the server and host. The quality of the fish is outstanding, and the prices are extremely fair for what you receive.

I wish this was specified on Google Maps. You can only eat here if you set up a reservation. We showed up hoping this was a regular place to eat. While we looked for another place to eat outside the closest restaurant, a few more folks showed up thinking the same thing, haha.

My experience at this restaurant was truly lovely. It's a reservation only spot, so calling ahead is a must, but it's well worth it. The food was excellent, earning a perfect 5/5, and the atmosphere was equally impressive with a 5/5 rating. The service also received a perfect 5/5. While the price per person is between $30–50, it felt justified by the overall quality. However, I would not recommend it for vegetarians.
