Good food and ambiance, poor service
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food and ambience were good, earning a 4 out of 5 for both. However, the service was disappointing, rated only a 1.
My waiter was not attentive, with no check-backs and a general lack of engagement. I had to flag down other servers to get his attention, which is not what I would expect from a place like this. In fact, I've had better servers at Denny's.

Excellent Solo Dinner Experience
My experience at this restaurant was a great solo dinner. Albert, in particular, was awesome and a true professional behind the bar. The entire staff combined to create a great experience.
I'm glad to have this option in the city.

Impeccable Service, Exemplary Puddings
Despite a terrible blind date, I stayed for dinner alone in the bar. The staff and service were impeccable. The Yorkshire puddings were exemplary.
The atmosphere was very nice, tavern-like yet bright at sunset, with families and children around. I would definitely go again.

Amazing Dinner at Wayfare Tavern!
I had an amazing dinner at Wayfare Tavern. The food was outstanding, and the young lady who took care of us was so friendly and attentive. The classic, cozy atmosphere made the whole experience feel special.

Pricey but Good Drinks, Bland Food
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. While we didn't have any problems with the food, except for the clam chowder which had an unusual twist, the overall food was bland. On the positive side, the drinks were good.
However, the experience was on the pricey side.

Great Food, Okay Service
My experience at this restaurant was overall positive, primarily due to the food, which was great. The service was okay, but it was busy. It's a good place for a quick lunch.

Magical Anniversary Dinner at Wayfare Tavern
Our fifth anniversary was nothing short of magic, and Wayfare Tavern made it unforgettable. ✨ From the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth and grace—three heartfelt “Happy Anniversaries” from the host, our server, and even as we paid the bill. That kind of attention doesn’t just make a dinner—it makes a memory.
The interiors were a dream, designed by the ever-talented Jon de la Cruz, a kababayan whose work truly captures both elegance and soul. If you ever dine here, touch the wallpaper. Trust me—it’s art you can feel.
Before our meal even began, we were surprised with a complimentary champagne toast, a simple yet profoundly touching gesture. Then came the popover, buttery, golden, and cloud-soft—honestly one of life’s small perfections. We started with Deviled Eggs, and I can confidently say—these were the best I’ve ever had.
Each bite was creamy, tangy, and perfectly seasoned. The Tavern Burger arrived, accompanied by dangerously addictive shoestring fries—one bite and I understood why it’s legendary. Then, as a self-proclaimed fried-chicken devotee, the California Fried Chicken took my breath away: crisp, juicy, full of heart, and unmistakably Californian.
And to end the savory symphony, the Burrata Whipped Potatoes—so delicate, buttery, and dreamy, they could melt even the coldest heart. Wayfare Tavern isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience, a love letter written in butter, wine, and grace. 🍾✨ Thank you, Chef Tyler Florence and team, for giving our love story the most delicious chapter yet.

Timeless Charm and Phenomenal Food
Wayfare Tavern is an incredible spot for a wedding reception. It's timeless, cozy, and filled with signature San Francisco charm. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, offering a perfect mix of elegance and comfort.
The food is phenomenal, truly some of the best I’ve ever had at a wedding. The staff is so attentive and welcoming. It photographs beautifully, especially with the moody lighting and vintage details that make it feel like a tucked-away gem in the heart of the city.
It’s the perfect place for couples who want a romantic, elevated, yet laid-back celebration.
