Insect in South Indian Thali - Terrible Experience
My experience at this restaurant was extremely negative. I ordered the South Indian thali and was horrified to find an insect in the food. This was a worst experience and a worst place to eat food.

A True Gem: Wonderful Cozy Dinner Spot
What a wonderful cozy and casual dinner spot! This was my first time trying an uttapam, idli, and medu vada, and they were all great. My photo shows my plate partly eaten because it looked so good I forgot to take a picture before digging in.
Despite being busy on a Saturday night, the staff was very nice and attentive. We had a delightful time here; it feels like a true gem of a restaurant. I would absolutely recommend it.

Good food, problematic payment
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The food was good, but the service regarding payment was problematic. The waiter attempted to charge me twice, claiming the initial payment failed, despite the POS machine clearly indicating a successful transaction.

Terrible Service, Great Food
My dining experience was truly sad. The customer service was trash, with no warm greeting or pleasantries. Getting seated was a feat; I was placed next to a partition with a folded stroller on the right side of my table, despite other open seats being available.
I was offered a seat in front of a table of poorly monitored children. Food ended up in my hair, on my sleeve, pants, sock, and shoe. The floor was also covered in some sauce, making me feel like I had to flip the table to get a clean towel.
There was no help from staff or other adults. When ordering, I asked for the okra dish and whatever the table in front of me was having. The waitstaff asked if I wanted two dishes, and I replied yes, perhaps for leftovers.
The floor was a mess after the table with the children left.

Delicious Indian Food, Great Value!
As a white person who enjoys making and dining on Indian food, I'm always on the lookout for new, delicious places. While some reviews mentioned poor service or sour dosas, my experience was the opposite. The service was fast and friendly, and the dosa was crispy and delicious.
Both the cauliflower and spinach fillings were flavorful and well-spiced, though those seeking extra heat should ask for it. All the sauces were also flavorful, and the sambar was delicious. The price is unbeatable for San Francisco, with a huge dinner costing less than $15 per person, which is incredibly hard to find.
I would happily return. The atmosphere is casual, making it a great place for family or friends rather than a romantic dinner.

Horrific Breakfast Experience with a Mouse!
My dining experience was one of the worst I've ever had. We visited for breakfast because no other decent place was open. For the first 10 minutes, no one even bothered to take our order.
When the food finally arrived, it was a disaster. The filter coffee was weak and sad. The idlis did not look fresh at all.
The rava dosa was the worst I've ever encountered—stale, soggy, and with onion chunks so huge they were inedible. I was already considering leaving the food untouched when the absolute deal-breaker happened: a black mouse was literally hanging above where we were sitting. That was it—we jumped out of our seats and left immediately.
To top it off, the staff showed zero concern for hygiene or customer experience. They still charged us nearly $60 for this horrific experience, without a single word of apology. Disgusting food, an unhygienic environment, and careless service.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Sour food and indifferent manager
My experience at this restaurant on Saturday dinner was very disappointing. Two of us ordered Dosas, and they were sour, suggesting the batter was old. I also tried the idli meant for my one-year-old and found it to be sour as well.
We informed the manager, but he was indifferent. The plates were not clean, and we ended up getting sick that night due to the dosas. I would not recommend this place for South Indian food.

Misleading South Indian Food Experience
My experience at this restaurant, advertised as South Indian, was far from authentic. The food quality clearly showed that the chefs might not be from South India, or even India at all, possibly hailing from Bangladesh or Mexico. The Mysore Masala Dosa was inedible due to extremely sour, 2-3 day old batter (⭐ 0/5).
While replaced with slightly better, average batter, it was still disappointing. The Idlis were tiny and also sour from old batter, making them impossible to finish (⭐ 0/5). The Vada was a complete disappointment – not crispy and oozing uncooked batter, indicating it was under-fried and poorly made (⭐ 0/5).
The Thali Meals were mostly disappointing, with only the poori and chana masala being worth eating (⭐ 3/5). The rice was served in a very small bowl and seemed to have too much baking soda. The Bisibele Bath was the only highlight, good enough to order a second serving (⭐ 4/5), though it had a strange aftertaste from an untraditional spice.
Overall, this is not authentic South Indian food and not worth visiting if you're seeking genuine Indian cuisine. If you know real South Indian flavors, you will be disappointed. Save your time and drive to San Jose for much better options.
This was a bad experience, not a fine dining one.

Disappointing Return Visit: Sour Idli/Dosa, Good Bhindi
We returned to this restaurant after a great first experience a year ago. Unfortunately, our recent visit was disappointing. The idli and dosa were awful and tasted extremely sour, leading to my wife and mother-in-law feeling miserable the next day.
When I brought this to the manager's attention, he seemed indifferent. On a positive note, the bhindi was very good.

Terrible Food Experience
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The food was the worst I have ever tasted. The dosa was sour, and the wada was undercooked, feeling like I was eating raw batter.
The entire meal seemed reheated. Unfortunately, my stomach got upset within a few hours. I would not recommend this place.
