Disappointing Service and Long Wait
I’m really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. First off, our server didn’t even bring us water until we had to ask for it; that should be a basic part of service. Then, my food took an unusually long time to come out. On top of that, when I ordered a mimosa, I was told they were out of champagne – how do you run out of something that’s clearly listed on the menu? Overall, the service was slow, unorganized, and definitely not worth the wait. I expected better hospitality and preparation from this.

Great Homestead Breakfast with Locals
I had a great experience at this restaurant, particularly enjoying their homestead breakfast. The amount of locals dining there was a clear indicator that it's a good place to get good food. The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the food also received a 5-star rating. Parking was noted as difficult to find, but there was free street parking available. Reservations were not required, and there was no wait time.

Atmosphere Shines, Food and Service Just Okay
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The atmosphere was the main draw, really capturing a 1950s feel, and I'd rate it a 5. However, the food was nothing special, earning a 3. The toast was warm at best, and I observed what appeared to be a health code violation in a handwashing sink. While the service was fast, the overall food quality left something to be desired. There are probably better options out there.

High Prices, Poor Service, Small Portions
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The prices were high and the portions were small. The service was horrible; I had to ask for sugar for my coffee and salt and pepper while the wait staff stood by idly. Living in the neighborhood, I always wondered why they never had business, and now I understand.

Cute spot for simple American breakfast
My experience at this restaurant was great! It's a cute place that was conveniently walking distance from our hotel, Holiday Inn. The food was good, offering simple American fare, and the coffee was delicious.

Disappointing Experience with Service and Value
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The price of the lux bagel and toast, along with two cappuccinos, did not align with the quality, quantity, or the service received. We were not provided with water even after asking, and we waited over 15 minutes for these simple orders, despite the restaurant not being busy. This constitutes bad service and feels like an insult to both San Francisco residents and visitors.

Worst Service, Disappointing Experience
We visited on a Sunday afternoon during the brunch rush and were surprised to find only four staff members working. Our experience was extremely poor as we were never served our meal. To make matters worse, a couple who arrived after us was seated, ate, and paid their bill before we inquired about our food. The waitress informed us that our ticket was misplaced and had not yet been started. We waited patiently for 45 minutes for our meal, and during that time, no staff member checked on us. This was the worst service I ever experienced. We were very disappointed because the food looked pretty good.

Old-fashioned diner with great omelet
My experience at this restaurant was like stepping into an old-fashioned diner. I ordered the Godfather Omelet, which was very good. It was accompanied by hash browns and wheat toasts, and I found all of it to be good.

Order forgotten, walked out
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. After waiting for 45 minutes, the staff finally realized they had misplaced or forgotten our order. This led us to walk out without being served. The atmosphere was described as loud, but still allowing for conversation.

Disappointing Decline of a Polk St Favorite
This place used to be a Polk St mainstay, but now it’s a fledgling generic breakfast spot. We arrived a bit before 9 on a Saturday, and while there were many open tables, every one was dirty. The staffing seemed inadequate, with only one server for the floor and three people in the kitchen, leading to long waits for orders to be taken and for seating. The server was clearly overwhelmed, and the 30-minute wait for coffee was excessive. Sadly, the quality of the food seems to have significantly declined. The orange juice, once fresh squeezed, is now from a jug, and the dishes feel haphazardly prepared. A second server arrived later but didn't wash their hands before helping. The overall food quality was bland and boring, lacking the special "je ne sais quoi" it once had. It's now just "meh" – passable but not great.
