Disappointing Christmas Dinner Experience
As locals looking for a fun Christmas pre-fixe dinner, our experience at the Grant Grill was disappointing from the start. We had previously enjoyed cocktails and snacks there, so we had high expectations. The reservation process through OpenTable required a hold for the pre-fixe menu, leading us to believe it was the only option for dinner.
However, upon arrival, we were only presented with a wine list, and when we inquired about the regular bar menu, there seemed to be a push towards the wine list. The portions were very small, and some dishes lacked freshness; my salad tasted premixed and had been sitting on the plate, and our main courses were lukewarm. For $135 per person, the portions were not only small but also lacked the taste factor of a chef's tasting menu.
To our surprise, when I went to use the restroom, I noticed that walk-in customers could order from the regular menu, and no one else seemed to be partaking in the set menu. Spending $480 for two people felt much less festive than if we had ordered à la carte, which would have offered better food and beverage options for less money.

Overpriced Brunch with Bland Food
My experience at this restaurant for brunch was quite disappointing. The food was extremely overpriced for what was served. The chorizo omelette contained a minuscule amount of chorizo and some unidentifiable greens.
The quiche seemed like it was microwaved, and both the presentation and taste of the dishes were bland. The waiter struggled to understand our order and made mistakes with the drinks. The prices were astronomical, especially considering the quality, and an additional 8% surcharge was added to the bill.
I will give it two stars for the ambience, as it is a pleasant place to visit, but I won't be returning.

Amazing Food and Friendly Staff!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I visited before seeing Sarah Millican, and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and clearly good at their job.
The atmosphere was also very nice. It's a great spot with no wait time and a reasonable price per person.

Cold and old food, very late service
We visited this restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast, due to having hotel credit. On both occasions, the food served was cold and tasted old. Additionally, the service was very late.

Polished Classic with Excellent Service
My experience at Grant Grill was consistently pleasant and elegant. We visited for both lunch and an early pre-theatre dinner, and both visits were excellent. The service truly stood out; our server, Vince, was fantastic – genuinely friendly, attentive, and professional, elevating the entire experience without being intrusive.
I ordered the tuna, which was beautifully prepared with fresh, clean flavor. Their cocktails were also a highlight – balanced, creative, and very well made. My husband enjoyed his burger.
We both left very happy with our meals. The atmosphere was comfortable, making it perfect for a relaxed lunch or a pre-theatre dinner. With great service, good food, and excellent cocktails, we'll definitely be back.

Consistently Excellent Food and Service
I've had the pleasure of dining here many times over the last decade, experiencing both the restaurant and room service. The old school service staff are truly top notch, and the food is consistently impeccable. My experiences have always been excellent, with no wait times and a great atmosphere.

Excellent Service Despite Forgotten Appetizer
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive, despite an initial hiccup. My appetizer order was forgotten, but the manager and server were incredibly gracious and kind, which totally made up for everything. They provided great customer service by comping our meal, checking on us several times, and offering a sincere apology.
It was a great way to ensure customer happiness!

Disappointing Dinner Experience
I visited the Grant Grill with a friend on a Friday night before seeing Les Miserable. The atmosphere was delightful, and I was anticipating a delicious meal. We started with what was described as homemade focaccia, but its texture was fluffy and spongy like white bread, not what I expect from focaccia.
For my main course, I ordered the Hokkaido Scallops ($54), which came with Carrot Ginger Purée, Chanterelle Mushrooms, Lemon Foam, and Carrot Crisp. The scallops were quite small, about the size of a quarter, and there weren't many for a main dish. Unfortunately, they were overcooked, resulting in a tough and chewy texture, and the entire meal was cold.
The baby bok choy was also overcooked and soggy. The photo shows that the mushrooms were not chanterelles, and if they were out of them, they should have stated it. The purée and foam were unmentionable, and the presentation was sloppy and unappealing.
Had our waiter been more attentive and checked on us, I would have returned the meal. He only reappeared with the check. This was a very disappointing experience.
