Home-style comfort and sweet family service!
I've been here almost 10 times this past year, and if you like home style cooking, you'll love it. Get the duck noodle soup! Trust me.
Plus, the family that runs things is soooo sweet. Make sure you are friendly when you visit; they deserve the world!

Serviceable Food, Nothing Memorable
My experience at the restaurant was that the food was serviceable. I can't say anything in particular was memorable. It's fine if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

Excellent Vietnamese Noodles and Fish Cakes
My experience at this restaurant was excellent! We tried the Vietnamese Rice Noodle Soup and the fish cakes, with egg rolls on the side, and they were fantastic. The Thai Tea was also tasty.
The restaurant was busy with a constant stream of customers, which is always a good sign. We found the price to be very reasonable, and we would definitely eat here again.

Authentic Vietnamese-Chinese Noodle Soup
My parents had a craving for the kind of Vietnamese-Chinese noodle soup that could awaken old memories and warm the soul. I was determined to find the very best in the city, a place worthy of their nostalgia. That quest led us to Thai Nghiep Ky Mi Gia, tucked away in the heart of San Francisco's Sunset District.
The moment we stepped in, the air was rich with the scent of simmering broth. We were seated instantly, greeted with a smile that felt like an old friend welcoming us home. Then came the bowls--piping hot, fragrant, and full of flavor.
One sip of the broth and we were transported straight back to the bustling streets of Saigon, where time slowed and every bite was a memory reborn. The atmosphere was laid-back yet full of life, the service warm and attentive, and every spoonful felt like an embrace from the past. For anyone seeking not just a meal, but a journey--I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Long Wait and Incorrect Orders
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. If you enjoy waiting an hour for a bowl of noodle soup while seated, and then having your two orders come out incorrect, this is the perfect place for you. The waiting time was excessive, and the order accuracy was poor.

Authentic Teo Chow/Vietnamese Noodles
My experience at this fantastic mom-and-pop soup shop was wonderful. I enjoyed the authentic Teo Chow/Vietnamese noodles. I prefer having the soup on the side to balance the slightly oily, well-seasoned noodles.
The dish features a variety of proteins, including fish ball, fish cake, ground meat, steamed shrimp, fried shrimp, and lean pork. It reminded me of my aunt's cooking, and I'll definitely return.

Delicious Vietnamese-Chinese Noodles!
My experience at this Vietnamese-Chinese noodle store was highly recommended by friends, and it did not disappoint. The egg noodles, both thin and flat, were the best. I ordered based on a picture online and received a mix combination meat with wonton and thin egg noodles, with soup on the side.
I also added a duck leg and a plate of fried fish cake. The noodle bowl was generously portioned with big, filled wontons and a good mix of toppings including shrimp, ground pork, kidney, mini fish balls, and crispy shrimp crackers. The dish was simple but really good.
I particularly liked the house-made fish balls. The shrimp crackers were just okay. The separate soup bowl was a nice touch, and the broth, while simpler than Pho, was perfect for the dish.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to add some greens like bok choy or carrots. The duck leg was incredibly soft, falling off the bone easily, a testament to its long braising time. The fried fish cake was soft but could have used more flavor.
To finish, the Vietnamese coffee was perfect! Overall, it was a good dine-in experience with great and friendly customer service. It can get very busy during lunch, and parking can be difficult, requiring paid street parking and vigilance.
The restroom was clean. I'm looking forward to trying their spicy satay beef noodle soup with special peanut broth next time.

Excellent Wonton Noodles and Duck
My experience at this restaurant was excellent, particularly with their focus on wonton noodles. The duck leg was incredible, served in a wonderful soup that had a nice complexity. It's recommended to have the soup served on the side.
The duck itself was extremely tender and flavorful, and you can add the soup to it as you eat. The table was well-stocked with many condiments. They also offer complementary hot or cold soy milk, which was a wonderful touch, especially in cooler San Francisco.
While we really enjoyed our meal, it can get crowded. The owner was very, very nice, though other servers were a little less friendly.
