Disappointing Service, Better Next Door
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing, primarily due to the service. We were seated for 35-40 minutes before our server approached us three times to "verify" our order. It wasn't until we asked another employee that we discovered our order hadn't even been placed.
The same server also struggled to comprehend adding chicken to a pasta dish and became combative with my wife about whether it should be on the pasta or on the side, despite her repeatedly clarifying "on the pasta. " This was a really disappointing way to end our first day visiting SF. We had a much better experience and amazing food next door at Bocconcino.

Excellent Service and Good Food
My experience at this restaurant was marked by amazing service. The spaghetti and meatballs were good, as was the salad. My companions enjoyed the Jeannine and clams, which they found excellent.
Our server was particularly attentive, going out of her way to make us feel comfortable, even with a two-year-old at the table. They offer a lovely red wine by the carafe at a good price. It's not a bad place to check out, and they've been around for years.

Cute Ambiance, Disappointing Italian-American Food
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. While the place was cute, the food was not what I expected. It felt more like casual Italian-American fare, with the di Lucca pizza being comparable to Pizza Hut.
The seafood pasta had a heavy cream sauce, and the seafood was slightly overcooked. I wouldn't recommend this place for authentic Italian food, as there are better options available. However, it does get extra points for the ambience.

Cozy North Beach Gem with Great Portions
My experience at this restaurant was a true step back in time! It's a relaxed, neighborhood spot that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. I enjoyed great portions, very consistent food at good quality, and reasonable prices to boot.
Located right in the heart of North Beach, this place should be on your radar for a cozy dining experience.

Excellent Food, Service, and Atmosphere!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was great, with tip-top gnocchi and tasty specials. Even a steak is available if you want it.
The house salad is large enough for a light main and can be customized to omit olives if you dislike them. The service was also excellent. While I don't drink wine, my girlfriend's dad thoroughly enjoyed his.
The atmosphere was clearly a hit, as indicated by the perfect scores. Overall, a twelve out of ten stars experience!

Ambiance and Service Shine, Lasagna Disappoints
We enjoy the ambiance and the service, and certain items here, like the garlic cheesy bread and gnocchi, are fantastic. However, the lasagna was a significant letdown. It had very few layers of pasta, with textures ranging from rubbery to burnt, and the edges were crisp.
There was barely a hint of meat sauce, with the rest being predominantly cheese. For $28, it failed to meet even the minimum expectations for a mid-priced dish. The service staff were accommodating and happy to substitute the dish.
I recommend coming here and ordering something else for a great time, but if you specifically want lasagna, save your money and explore other options.

Disappointing Food Quality Decline
My recent experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. The Gnocchi Gorgonzola was a significant letdown as it did not contain any gorgonzola cheese, tasting more like a roux with no cheese at all. Additionally, the garlic bread was of very low quality.
It seems like the food is not the same as what we have enjoyed for years. This could be due to a bad night or poor management.

Amazing Service, Huge Portions!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I was told not to sleep on this place, and I'm so glad I didn't. The service was the best, with huge portions and unbelievable attention.
A special shout out to the bartender, Mark, for making our night perfect. The atmosphere was great, and the food was excellent.

Perfect Date Night at Sodinis!
Imagine finally getting a date and wanting to impress them with a perfect date experience. The journey began in Washington Square Park for a meet and greet, followed by classy, yet unpretentious, cocktails at Tony Niks. A single Paper Plane or Negroni over lively conversation set the mood.
We then stepped out into the vibrant North Beach streets and walked to SODINIS, where a reservation was already made! The staff are some of the most authentic beautiful people on earth, and the establishment itself is equally so. We enjoyed several carafes of the house red, and Sodinis even supplied crayons for writing cute notes to my swooning date.
After indulging in delicious Italian food, we walked it off by heading out, taking a left up Green St. , a steep climb, then a left on Montgomery St. up the stairs. The view of the city from there was breathtaking. WWWWHEN THE MOON HITS YER EYE LIKE A BIG PIZZA PIEEEEEEE.
We floated home on a cloud made out of gnocchi, falling in love. I love you Sodinis.
