Disappointed by Menu Changes
My experience at this restaurant in Stonestown was great until they discontinued serving all thighs. This change made me stop going.

Average Meal with Healthy Options
I visited this restaurant with a group of friends before a movie. The portion sizes were good, and the price was reasonable. I appreciated that the food felt very healthy; I ordered the original bowl without any modifications. The service was also decently fast. However, there isn't much seating, which meant we had to find another place to sit. I also found the chicken and rice became bland after a while. Overall, it was an average experience, and I've had better Rooster and Rices elsewhere.

Consistent Food, Small Space
My experience at this restaurant location, situated near the mall entrance, was marked by its consistent taste across their many bay area branches. The store itself is small, offering limited indoor seating for about six people, though takeout is an option with seating available in the second-level food court. The establishment is considered clean. The food is described as average and consistent in taste. I personally enjoy their ginger and scallion sauce. Each meal is priced under $20 and includes a small cup of soup. When ordering, customers can choose between white or dark meat (with an additional charge) and opt for rice or salad.

Questionable Tax on Small Order
My experience at the restaurant involved a concern about the tax applied to my order. They attempted to charge me $2 in tax on a $10 order, which amounts to 20%. I am questioning the legality of this tax rate.

My experience at this restaurant was very positive. The food, while simple, was tasty. The service was great, and the staff were kind and friendly, making it a nice place to get chicken and rice.

Healthy and Tasty, but Pricey
Rooster & Rice was my go-to for a quick and healthy meal. Their white rice with chicken was extremely good and always hit the spot. While the prices are quite high, they are more affordable compared to some places in Stone Town.

Authentic Chicken Rice, Small Space
My experience at this restaurant was centered around their average chicken rice, specifically "The Original. " They truly nailed the rice and soup, with the rice being wonderfully fragrant and carrying that classic chicken rice scent. The soup was also good. The chicken itself tasted good when paired with the sauce; otherwise, it would have been quite bland. We opted for takeout because the place is small, with only two tables that were both occupied.

Disappointing Hainanese Chicken Experience
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The portion size was small, and the meat was dry. It felt too expensive for the few pieces of chicken served. I wouldn't consider this a proper Hainanese chicken spot.

Great Value and Fast Service
My experience at this restaurant was defined by its great price, offering chicken over rice with soup and sauce for just 13 dollars. While the ginger scallion sauce wasn't as savory as I'm used to, I would happily return for the fast service and streamlined menu. It's a good option if you're on a time crunch. Interestingly, there's even an option for extra skin!

Delectable Broth Makes Up for Late Arrival
I'm late to Rooster and Rice! Personally, I prefer bone-in options, but I have to say, the broth made up for this! The broth is deceptively flavorful. The ginger scallion sauce is okay, but try their house sauce! The cucumber salad was a nice pairing! Will definitely visit again.
