You’re looking at roughly 18 per person – reported by 6 diners. That puts it in the $11–$20 category. For an African Restaurant, it’s comfortably mid-range: not a steal, but not bank-breaking either.

While the average is 18, our limited data from 6 diners shows a mix of spending, with some finding cheaper bites and others opting for slightly pricier dishes, but most land in that sweet spot. Just a heads-up, with only 6 reviews, this is a good indication, but more data would give us an even clearer picture!

Heavenly Mediterranean & Red Sea Fusion
I was really intrigued by Radio Africa & Kitchen, a nomadic restaurant I'd heard about last year. It began as an Ethiopian chef serving meals to friends at his home, evolving into an underground supper club. Now, he's serving heavenly Mediterranean and Red Sea fusion dishes at Coffee Bar in Portrero on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. The commitment to locally-grown fruits and vegetables, as well as sustainably-produced meats and fish, is commendable. The food was simply amazing. We shared the "Mezze, " a combination of five appetizers: Radio Africa house smoked rainbow trout shrimp cake with pistachio romescu and herb salad; seared ahi tuna and wild rice rolls with harissa and mixed radishes; heirloom tomato and arugula salad with sumac and manchego cheese; spinach and wild nettle soup with saffroned kefir and mustard blossoms; and edamame hummus with green olive oil and Tartine bread. All five were fantastic, bursting with unique complements of flavors and textures, truly exceptional. For $30, it was quite a bargain. We also split an entree: the artichoke encrusted Californian halibut with potato-summer squash tagine and toasted pine nuts. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth, cooked-to-perfection goodness, and the tagine was savory and delicious. Our server was friendly, attentive, and charming, fitting perfectly with the casual mood of the low-lit, spacious upstairs dining room. I highly recommend checking this place out; it's a unique treat.

Delicious Food, Worth the Initial Hesitation
To be completely honest, this is not a restaurant I would go to of my own volition if I only saw their location and menu. After trying their food, however, I’ve realized that was a huge mistake. The food is absolutely delicious, and I wish I could have the piri piri sauce they make in a gallon jar so I could add it to everything.

Phenomenal Food and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was phenomenal! The food and the staff were outstanding. I visited with a large group, and the staff expertly managed everyone's diverse needs. While the rest of my party enjoyed a family-style meal and raved about it, I requested a last-minute vegan plate. The staff didn't hesitate and very graciously accommodated my dietary requirements. I savored a delicious salad followed by a perfectly spiced bowl with lentils, saffron rice, and greens. I highly recommend this place!
