Good Coffee, Yummy Pastry, Pricey
My experience at the restaurant was positive, particularly with their coffee. I found the coffee to be really good. However, it was quite pricy, with a machiatto costing $5.
50. I also tried their gluten-free vegan sweet potato tahini pastry, which was yummy and offered an interesting flavor profile.

Amazing baked goods and friendly staff!
Preserve and Gather used to be my go-to weekly coffee place. Sadly, I no longer live in Seattle but still visit if I’m in the area. The baked goods are uh-mazing and the staff are very friendly!

A Popular Brunch Spot with Room for Improvement
This is a popular place for Sunday brunch. The baked selection looked good, although limited. I did not try it.
The warm drink selection also looked interesting, and I also did not try. The pickled egg salad sandwich was interesting. I like pickled things, and I like egg salad.
It was not bad, but it seems like I would have liked it more than I did. My dining companion felt the same way about the salmon sandwich on a bagel. Since the place is popular, it could be we just didn't pick the best items for our tastes.
Again, it was not bad, just not outstanding. The staff was prompt, courteous, and helpful.

Heavenly Hand Pies and Great Vibes
My experience at this restaurant was absolutely heavenly! If you're searching for baked goods that are truly exceptional, this is the place. The flavor combinations were fantastic and packed a punch, with nothing being too sweet.
The pastry was perfectly crumbly – pure bliss. I tried the spinach and sausage hand pies, a pumpkin muffin, and the orange cardamom bread, and I could have easily ordered anything else on display. The cortados were also fantastic.
The atmosphere was vibing, the staff was kind, and the overall experience was lovely.

Disappointing Drink and Service Charge
I was really looking forward to checking out this place, and I don’t want to give a bad review. However, I ordered a London Fog, and the drink still had the Earl Grey tea bag in it. I probably wouldn’t care that much if they didn’t automatically charge a 15% service charge.
If you’re going to charge me an extra fee that I can’t opt out of, maybe you could’ve put a bit more effort into the drink you’re making. Just my 2 cents.

Great Coffee, Food, and Vibe
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. I enjoyed the great coffee and food, and the great vibe. The restaurant also offers a few patio tables for when the weather is nice.
Overall, the service is typically pretty good.

Inconsistent Pastries, Service Lacking
My experience at this place was mixed. I think the pastries here are great, meaning they're tasty! However, the consistency is an issue.
On my last Sunday morning visit, I had what seemed like yesterday's peanut butter bar and sprinkle cookie. They usually taste much better than that! Additionally, the service is oftentimes not great.
The person at the cashier isn’t very polite or nice.

Consistently Good Coffee Shop with Great Parking
My experience at this modern and comfy coffee shop was positive. The parking nearby is very convenient. While the coffee isn't my absolute favorite, it's consistently good.
The service and atmosphere both received a perfect score of 5, and the food was rated a solid 4.

Delicious Espresso, Okay Sandwich
My experience at the restaurant was quite positive, despite a tight schedule. The atmosphere was great and the shop was full of lovely people! I would have loved to stay longer if I didn’t have a flight to catch.
I got a double espresso which was DELICIOUS and a toasted pickled egg sandwich to go. The sandwich was good but desperately needed a hit of pepper, paprika, and more (or any?) celery and parsley. It was all very very Pickle and very very Egg.
I would not get it again but I’d make something like this at home. It had a good foundation of a great sammich. The portion was nice n big so I offloaded the other half to my brother.
He lives close and I told him to check it out - they had a bunch of interesting pastry flavors I wanted to try like pear and ginger scones. I’d come back fo sho!

Disappointing Decline in Quality
My husband and I have been visiting Preserve & Gather for over three years, making it our go-to Saturday morning spot and a favorite date destination. We used to rave about the delicious food and wonderful cortados. However, over the last few months, we've noticed a significant decline in food quality.
Our usual orders started tasting different, and not in a good way. Yesterday marked our final visit. The establishment no longer serves the same quality or variety of food.
While our cortado was acceptable, the accompanying sparkling water was disgustingly warm. We discovered the restaurant was sold, which sadly explains the loss of quality. When I inquired about specific food items, the response was that they weren't made in the summer, which felt like a misdirection, especially since these items were previously available year-round.
It would have been better to be informed about new ownership. We are super disappointed to lose a quality neighborhood brunch spot.
