Postino Little Italy - Reviews

We visited Postino in Little Italy last Saturday after a trip to the Farmers Market. As frequent visitors to the Del Mar location, we were excited to try this site. Postino did not disappoint; the experience was DELICIOUS! We always start with the cauliflower, which is absolutely delicious. Our bartender, Leo, was incredibly down-to-earth and fun to chat with, so much so that we plan to return next Saturday. The sparkling wine was mellow, not sweet, and Holly's Way was a good basic Chardonnay. There were plenty of reds to choose from. Yummy!

My experience at this chain restaurant was very positive. I've been to the Dallas location a couple of times and can confidently say you can't go wrong with it. The board and wine for 30 bucks is an excellent deal.

I was so impressed with this little restaurant. The server asked if anyone had allergies. I said yes, he asked what they were, and when the food runner came by, they verified my allergies and offered an alternative salad dressing. 15 out of 10! Thank you. Also, the food was amazing!

My experience at Postino was fantastic! From the moment we entered, we received a nice warm welcome. The atmosphere was upbeat but calming, enhanced by the art and music. I particularly loved the unique decor of the old car hanging from the ceiling in the back room. Our server, Eric, was exceptional. He provided great wine and bruschetta recommendations. The Smoked salmon Pesto and Burrata, Bacon, Arugula and Tomato bruschettas were "Muy delicioso! " The wine he recommended was the perfect complement. We also enjoyed the Half Nine Iron Panini and Chicken Florentine Soup, which "hit the spot! " For dessert, we indulged in their popular donut dots and the Crunchy Hazelnut Bar with Peanut Butter Mousse. It was truly Foodie Heaven! Eric took great care of us throughout the meal. My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The food was not good and felt overpriced. To make matters worse, I discovered a hair in my dish. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, their response was arrogant, acting as if it was a normal occurrence. This unprofessional behavior was the worst part of the experience. I will not be returning.

However, the atmosphere was significantly impacted by constant airplane noise from planes taking off. While a few planes might be interesting, the continuous flow made it difficult to converse, detracting from the overall dining experience.

My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially for late-night eats! It's a sophisticated urban oasis offering legit Italian flavors and preparation. The wine list is well-curated, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is enhanced by candlelit tables and retro decor, giving it a mid-century authentic feel, complemented by contemporary music that isn't harsh. The service was top-notch, with a classy host and an attentive server named Rudy. Prices are fair, making it a great spot for a late-night nosh or a family celebration. I would definitely return again and again. I loved the P. R. E. M. A. With chicken, which had a light Romesco sauce and was 'mucho bello'. The shrimp scampi with artichokes was light and perfectly sautéed, and the garlic bread was crisp and tender.

My experience at the restaurant was very positive. We arrived for Sunday lunch and experienced no wait time. The service was great, and we enjoyed the special $7 wine glass until 5 pm. I highly recommend the bruschetta board; it was nicely cut into four slices for easy sharing. We combined the salami & pesto with the mozzarella & tomato bruschetta. For the latter, we felt it needed a little more salt or a sauce like balsamic vinaigrette or even the pesto, which is a suggestion for a future menu change. We upgraded our side salad to the brussel sprouts salad, which was tasty. The prosciutto panini was also a highlight, offering a nice mix of salt and sweet with the fig. Overall, a highly recommended dining experience.

I found this place while searching for the best spots in Little Italy, and I must say, it was a successful search! This recently opened establishment is truly very trendy and likable. The option to sit on the terrace in the summer is greatly appreciated. The staff is very courteous and always ready to offer recommendations and explanations about the menu. We ate really well, and the prices were reasonable. As a pilot, I also find the location particularly attractive because it's very close to the landing path of San Diego International Airport, with planes passing low and close. What might be a nuisance for many is an added attraction for me : -). We will definitely return the next time we pass through San Diego. The only drawback was the difficulty in finding parking.

I particularly enjoyed the caprese panini, which was delicious. I also tried a drink, an apricot Palmer, and it was amazing! The atmosphere was rated a 5, and the service and food also received a 5-star rating. There was no wait time, and it was a great experience for lunch.
