Excellent Breakfast and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was super good! We tried the chilaquiles and an omelet for breakfast, and they were both 10/10. The service is great; Miss Irene was such a great person, always on top of everything!
I would give this place a 100% recommendation 👌.

Mashed Potatoes were the best
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The food was just okay, described as 'mid'. However, the mashed potatoes were the best thing we had.
The service was also just 'ehh', not particularly great. On the positive side, the price wasn't bad for the meal. Overall, the mashed potatoes were a standout, but the rest of the experience was average.

Great Food, Worth the Wait!
My experience at this restaurant was largely positive. The food was great with big portions. The service was also great, and I was particularly impressed by the nicest bathroom I have ever seen for a public establishment.
The only drawback was a 20-minute wait for our food, so it's not ideal for a short lunch break. We will be back❤️.

Great Classic Breakfast Spot
My experience at Point Loma Cafe was great. It's a great little place that serves great classic breakfast food without the "gourmet" trend that's so common nowadays. The atmosphere and service were both rated a 4, and the food also received a 4.
There was plenty of parking available with free street parking. The noise level was quiet, making it easy to talk.

Exceptional Breakfast and Service!
If you're staying at the Double Tree, this is the best place to get breakfast. Even if you're not, this is a great place to eat. We enjoyed the make-your-own omelette and the Crab Cake Benedict.
Their hollandaise sauce is incredible, rich yet well-balanced and not broken. The crab cake was packed with so much crab, you definitely get your money's worth. I would rank this among the top egg Benedicts I've had in my life.
Beyond the food, the service was the best I've experienced in 5 years living in San Diego. Irene is an amazing human being and was so caring of us. She deserves significant credit for our experience and this review!

Disappointing Buffet Experience
My experience was that the cafe was closed. I was directed to the bar area, where there was a breakfast buffet. It was a typical hotel breakfast buffet, and it seemed to be part of the Double Tree hotel next door.
The cost was $25. 00 plus tax.

Café's Drastic Decline Since 2025
My experience at this café, beginning in 2025, has been one of significant decline. The menu has changed drastically, removing fan-favorite options and altering ingredients in existing items. To add to the disappointment, all prices have increased by 35-55%!
The "going green" initiative is perhaps the only positive aspect, but nearly everything else has changed. Smoothies now contain Greek yogurt, and the classic strawberry banana smoothie is gone. There are no breakfast wraps listed on the menu, nor any bakery items.
Some of the newer ingredients have an unpleasant flavor, so I would advise ordering with caution.

Exceptional Breakfast and Service at Point Loma Cafe
My experience at Point Loma Cafe was outstanding! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of a cozy, classic diner. The breakfast menu offered a wide array of delicious options, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful.
The portions were generous, making each bite feel like a homemade meal. Their coffee was strong and smooth, perfect for starting the day. What truly set this cafe apart was the exceptional service.
The staff were friendly and attentive, but a special shoutout goes to Irene. She was incredibly friendly, went above and beyond to make us feel special, and her recommendations, like the omelet bar, were spot on. Irene ensured our coffee cups were always full and even provided to-go cups proactively.
Her genuine kindness and professionalism made the experience truly memorable. I highly recommend Point Loma Cafe for a great breakfast with top-notch service.

Good Service, Decent Breakfast
My experience at the restaurant was marked by great service and a very professional atmosphere, earning a 5/5 for service and atmosphere. I ordered the breakfast burrito and home fries, which were good, but ultimately nothing to brag home about. They were just what I needed after a long night out on the town.
The food received a 4/5.

Friendly Staff, Tasty Food, Clean Space
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. We visited around 9: 30 am on a Thursday with a party of three and were seated right away. The staff was friendly and professional, and the wait time wasn't too bad.
The food was tasty, and the space was clean and tidy. We would definitely visit again when we are near the area.
