Delicious Pho and Banh Mi!
My experience at the restaurant was great! I enjoyed their pho and banh mi, and also had a Thai ice tea. I would definitely come back again.
For lunch, I had beef and shrimp viciemilli noodles and a Thai ice tea for $24.

Delicious Pho and Sandwiches
My local neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant, run by the same family for over 15 years, offers delicious food. The pho is a standout, earning a rating of 3. 5 to 4 out of 5, comparable to authentic street pho in Hanoi.
The sandwiches are also deliciously made on the spot. The service received a rating of 4, and the atmosphere a 3. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers vegetarian options.
For those looking for a caffeine kick, ordering the Thai ice tea or Vietnamese coffee to go is recommended. Parking is available via free street parking, though it can be somewhat difficult to find.

Terrible Hai Nam Chicken Experience
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing, particularly with the Hai Nam chicken. I found it to be the worst I've ever eaten, appearing to be old, leftover chicken scraps assembled and served. The initial presentation was poor, as shown in the first picture.
Upon removing the top two pieces, I discovered the rest was predominantly bones, as seen in the second picture. I strongly advise against wasting your money here.

A Spiritual Culinary Revelation
Upon entering Pho Ha Tien, I was immediately enveloped by a symphony of olfactory splendor—the unmistakable perfume of star anise, charred ginger, and long-simmered marrow-infused broth coalesces into something near-spiritual. The ambience, though unpretentious, serves as the perfect stage upon which culinary transcendence is performed. Each bowl of pho is not merely a dish, but a poetic revelation—a sensorial tapestry that awakens dormant memories and ignites the imagination.
With each sip of the deeply umami-laden broth, I am transported—not to the streets of Saigon, necessarily, but somewhere ineffably tender and personal. Despite my unmistakable upbringing as a white male from suburban America, this broth whispers to me in a language I didn’t know I knew, recalling long-forgotten afternoons of innocence and warmth, as if my soul had been waiting to remember this flavor all along. The imperial rolls arrive like minimalist sculptures—clean, delicate, and hiding unexpected complexity beneath translucent rice paper.
The sauce, velvety and subtly nuanced, functions as a kind of edible sonnet, perfectly complementing the verdant crunch within. There is a certain ineffable lightness to the entire experience, as though each bite cleanses not just the palate but the spirit. I departed Pho Ha Tien feeling unburdened and luminously restored, as if kissed by the breeze of a midsummer morning.
One doesn’t merely dine here; one communes with something essential, something eternal. If you can only do one thing with the rest of your life, you’d be remiss to not visit Pho Ha Tien.

Authenticity Lacking in Vietnamese Cuisine
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing as the food did not feel like authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Instead, it seemed like a Chinese interpretation of Vietnamese dishes. The flavor profiles were either incorrect or completely missing, and the quality or textures of the food were not up to par.
Vietnamese cuisine is known for not skimping on quality, but this place unfortunately does.

Consistent Favorite Since 2006
I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here since around 2006, and whenever I'm in the city, we make it a point to visit. The food is good, with generous portions.
The service is quick, and the atmosphere is eclectic. However, the bathroom is best used only for emergencies; it's not the best.

Best Pho and Banh Mi!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had the best Pho I've had in the city, and I especially loved that they offer an XL size. The Banh Mi sandwich was also incredibly delicious.
The food quality, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5, making it a highly recommended spot for lunch.

Disappointing Flavors and Service
My experience at the restaurant was largely disappointing. I ordered the 5 spice chicken rolls and the lemongrass chicken plate. While the staff did replace the incorrect item I initially received, it was done with some attitude.
I also tried the Hong Kong milk tea. Unfortunately, none of the dishes were spicy or flavorful, which was a significant letdown. Due to the lack of flavor and the service issue, I will not be returning.

Long-time Pho Lover's Favorite
I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years, primarily coming here for their pho and imperial rolls. Even after relocating to the east bay, I still make the drive to Pho Ha Tien whenever the craving hits. I've tried many other places, but none offer the unique rice paper deep-fried rolls like they do.
The beef broth is exceptionally good and not at all fishy. I love this place and appreciate seeing the familiar faces behind the counter during my visits.

Best Pho Ever, Amazing Service!
My experience at this restaurant was outstanding! I had the Pho Tai (number 3) and added veggies, and it was hands down the BEST Pho I’ve ever had. The broth was incredibly fragrant and herbal, and the meat was super tender.
Unlike other places that serve basic sliced carrots and cabbage with veggie additions, here I was delighted with super fresh and crispy boc choy. The service was amazing as well; everyone was really sweet. This has become my new favorite spot!
