Peet's Coffee - Reviews

I've been to this Peet's outpost multiple times. While it's conveniently located and offers standard fare, it also has a delightful selection of uncommon snack foods like wafer cookies, German chocolate, and baked veggie bits, along with premade campus lunches in the deli fridge. However, the service is haphazard at best, which is a significant issue for a chain. Consistency in both food and service is a chain's strength, not necessarily exceptional quality. The baristas here vary greatly: some are pleasant, responsive, knowledgeable, and efficient, posing no problems. Others are incompetent, rude, insistent, and lackadaisical. I encountered one who insisted "tea lattes" don't exist and another who refused to list the tea selection, merely pointing at boxes. Multiple baristas repeatedly asked if I needed help, even after I'd already answered. This pattern of sloppy and incompetent work makes me dread visiting, especially for orders more complex than black coffee. Overall, this Peet's is acceptable if you don't expect decent service and remember to double-check your items.

My experience at this restaurant was mixed. While the food was excellent, scoring a 4 out of 5, the service was quite disappointing. I felt forgotten, and there was no apology or acknowledgment when mistakes were made. The atmosphere also received a low score of 2. The wait time was non-existent, which was a positive point.

I've had good experiences here in the past, but I'm annoyed because I ordered a decaf macchiato and I think they just put zero coffee in the drink. I have had this exact order from here before and not had a problem. I should’ve known from how pale it was, but I was in a rush. The food was good (4/5) and the service was also rated well (4/5), but this drink issue was frustrating.

My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The cashier cursed at me in a very low voice, as if talking to herself, after I simply asked for a cup of iced water. I felt this was an unreasonable reaction to a simple request. Additionally, I would advise against ordering the passion fruit, as it was not worth the price.

Located on the 1st floor of the library, this spot offers a great experience. Despite a long line, it moves quickly. As part of the SFSU campus, it's in a great location to walk, sip, and ponder 🤔 Enjoy!

I was really happy with the serve and options. Sometimes you just want a nice warm drink. They even had golden lattes (turmeric based) and I asked without the coffee. Very happy about it because there was something delicious without caffeine. Also was so surprised about the honey. It’s the best honey I’ve had, I am a big fan of this honey as it’s strong tasting and from healthy vital bees. I’m impressed by that option. Loved that!

I don't understand why I continue to return to this Peet's location. All of my iced drinks are consistently filled with excessive foam, lacking any substance. When I try to modify my drink, it seems to result in just tasting like milk. The professionalism at other Peet's locations is significantly higher than what I've experienced here, making it a waste of money.

They are convenient. That said, don’t expect them to care about the environment by supporting refills for a discount! Went here bought a coffee sat and drank it, then went up and asked for a refill and expected to get a discount just like every other coffee shop, and was told that they don’t do that here. Next time, I’ll opt for a new cup then. In the interest of historical context, everywhere raised the prices on everything because of environmental concerns such that the cost raises would help combat global climate change by combating pollution caused by the creation of consumable products such as disposable cups. So, what this location has done is take the good intention of hiked up prices and turned them into 100% profits, after the public has recognized the legitimate price hike to combat global climate change! Thanks A-holes! Nothing worse than a company that puts its profits before everything and everyone else!

I'm always ready to give me a delicious dark roast. The staff here are great. I ordered a sandwich one morning, but I realized I was running late. They were able to just give it to me afterwards, which was very helpful.

My experience at the restaurant was generally positive, with the service usually being really good and drinks arriving in a timely manner. However, I often find that my drinks have too much sugar, requiring me to ask for less sugar most of the time.
