Worst Margarita and Mediocre Service
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I paid $14 for what I consider the worst margarita I've ever had. This drink was so bad that it deterred me from ordering any food.
Additionally, the service was very mediocre. Due to these issues, I won't be returning.

Influencer Invitation Turned Disappointment
I was contacted and invited to dine at this restaurant as a social media influencer. However, the experience was far from ideal. They repeatedly dropped the ball and kept me running in circles for over a month before ultimately canceling the invitation.
It was a complete waste of my time. I advise others to be cautious if they receive a similar invitation.

Amazing Vibe, Disappointing Food
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. While the vibe was amazing and perfect for hanging out, and the staff was very friendly, the food unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Everything we ordered, both food and drinks, felt like they were just thrown together without a clear culinary vision.
The pineapple fried rice was surprisingly bland, and the Caribbean coffees lacked substance, tasting only of strong, alcoholic coffee and desperately needing cream for texture. The atmosphere was a definite highlight, scoring a 5 out of 5, and the service was good at a 4 out of 4, but the food quality, rated at a 1 out of 5, was the major letdown.

Style Over Substance, Lacking Flavor
Don’t let the menu fool you! This is all style no substance. The service is good and the atmosphere is decent, but the food was decidedly subpar.
It was oversalted and felt weighed down. It was not cooked with love. You can do much better in SF.

Fun Vibe, Solid Food on Union Street
This place is definitely a vibe, a great spot on Union Street if you’re in the mood for drinks. The cocktails were delicious (loved the piña colada!), but smaller than expected; they do have those giant drinks if you’re going all in. On the food, we tried the fried rice and island breakfast, both were solid, but nothing standout.
The real draw here is the fun, tropical decor and unique energy that sets it apart from the usual Union Street spots.

Party Bar Vibe, Tasty but Pricey Offerings
Honestly, I initially thought this place was a cafe version of the Palm Court, which it is not. However, they did offer some tasty offerings. I did find the prices for the portion sizes a little high.
This establishment seems to be better advertised as a party bar, complete with tiki-style group drink bowls (which are also pricey). So, if you're looking to watch the game and have some drinks with more than a couple of friends, this is your spot. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.
On the day of our visit, it was just the kitchen staff and bartender, so it required a bit of patience. Heads up, you might want to call ahead or sit at the bar, as we did.

Terrible Birthday Experience, Overcharged
I visited Palm House on my actual birthday. Despite mentioning it in my reservation, there was no greeting or "happy birthday" from the staff, which was poor customer service (#1). The place itself looked cute upon arrival.
However, once seated, I was informed everything was self-served, meaning no waiter. When my food arrived, it was cold, the fries lacked the requested seasoning, and my drink tasted more like juice with barely any alcohol. To make matters worse, after I had already forgotten to tip due to being in a rush for a movie date, the establishment deliberately charged their own tip to my card two days after I left.
I was furious because not only was the service garbage and the staff's energy stale, but being overcharged by deliberately taking a tip ruined my birthday and made me lose trust in the establishment's professionalism. The chicken sandwich was mediocre, nothing spectacular, just another gentrified neighborhood spot overcharging for a lackluster experience. I will never go back!

Cold food, terrible service, nice atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, with a nice skylight, and it seemed like a great place to get drunk. However, the food was a major letdown; it arrived cold.
The meat portions were small, chopped up, and appeared to be of poor quality. Other diners confirmed their food was also lukewarm. The service was terrible.
We waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged and another 15 minutes before our order was taken. Our waitress never checked on us or our food, didn't refill our water, and awkwardly stood by waiting for payment immediately after bringing the bill. On a positive note, the salad was good and the sauces were decent.
Overall, it was not a place I'll be returning to.

Cute Bites, Uncomfortable Seating
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The small bites and happy hour deals were great, offering good value and taste. However, the atmosphere was incredibly uncomfortable due to the chairs.
They are so narrow that anyone with even slightly larger hips or a booty will find them pinching and painful. It felt like they don't want curvaceous people there. I suspect a thoughtless owner or manager made this decision without considering comfort.
