My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The food was incredibly good, and the portions were generous. We ordered the curry pork and tomato sauce pork chops, and both dishes featured two large pieces. What's even more amazing is that the price for both was just under $20. I particularly enjoyed the baked pork chops, which were perfectly seared, and the tomato sauce was amazing. The portion sizes are big, making it great value for money. The service is fast and the staff is friendly! Overall, it's one of the best HK cha chaang tengs I've found in San Francisco.

We were completely won over by the salted egg yolk calamari, with its thick, satisfying pieces coated in rich, umami-packed salted duck egg yolk, boasting a perfect balance of flavor and texture. The shredded Hainan chicken was another highlight, moist and flavorful with cilantro and sesame, offering a touch of freshness and nuttiness. The fish with bok choy was a simple yet perfectly executed dish, featuring tender fish and crisp bok choy. We also enjoyed the stir-fry seafood chow fun, generously filled with seafood and infused with that delightful "wok hey" flavor. The chicken was tender and chilled, served with very tasty rice, steamed cabbage, and a delicious ginger sauce. My only critique was that it was a bit too salty. The Shanghai Soup Dumplings were decent, with plenty of soup, though the pork filling was just average. I found the Pork Dumplings With Yellow Chives to be even better, featuring juicy seasoned pork and a good wrapper texture. The owner was incredibly kind and even provided complimentary Hong Kong Lemon Tea. It's a hidden gem in the area, perfect for a satisfying meal.

We visited shortly after opening on a chilly late April Friday. Although the place was empty, there was a steady stream of pick-up orders. My partner and I were tired from our recent move and wanted a quick meal, so we opted for the curry plates instead of the baked options. We ordered the pork chop curry and the beef brisket curry, both served over spaghetti. As we debated whether to power through the meal or grab coffee afterward, Kevin emerged from the kitchen like a superhero, bringing us two large mugs of HK tea on the house. The food was incredible; we ate so fast we didn't even get pictures! The pork chops, of which the order came with two, were truly something special and will be a regular order for us. Kevin's hospitality was truly memorable, and we will definitely be back many times.

It was my first time back at Orchids Cafe since they reopened for indoor dining about a year and a half ago. I had previously only seen them open for take-out. The food here is delicious with authentic HK flavors. My iced milk tea was very good. They have now been added to my rotation of restaurants for lunch. Today, I had only 30 minutes for lunch due to a loading parking meter limit and opted for the curry pork chop spaghetti instead of the longer prep time baked pork chop spaghetti. To my surprise, multiple pork chops came out, which was a pleasant surprise as the menu only listed a singular "pork chop. " They were also huge! The chef did a great job. The curry was served on the side, which kept the crunchy tonkatsu from getting soft. The breading on the pork chops was on point. The service was excellent, as there was only one other party dining during lunch. Great job everyone at Orchids Cafe. I felt at home with the soft Cantonese music playing in the background.
