Ofena: A True Italian Culinary Gem
My experience at Ofena in San Francisco was that of a genuine culinary treasure. The atmosphere was cozy and chic, and the service was warm and attentive, offering true Italian hospitality. The food was exquisite, with every plate beautifully presented.
The Chitarra Alle Vongole (clam pasta with lemon and chili butter) was a showstopper, perfectly al dente and packed with flavor. We also loved the vibrant Beet & Citrus Salad with candied pecans and whipped ricotta, and the savory, cheesy Boquerones Toast. Every dish demonstrated high-quality ingredients and expert execution.
If you're looking for a top-tier Italian experience in SF, Ofena is a must-visit.

Safe and Delicious Dairy-Free Dining
My experience at this restaurant was delightful. As someone with a dairy allergy, I was concerned about dining out, but they ensured I felt safe and was well fed. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was great.
I felt completely at ease knowing my dietary needs were handled so well.

Warm, Welcoming, and Delicious Neighborhood Gem
Ofena is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want — warm, welcoming, and delicious. We were treated so well (thank you!) and loved the focaccia, especially the mortadella. The gnocchi with duck prosciutto was rich and perfect, and the pork chop was cooked just right.
The creamy polenta is a must — silky and comforting. Peas salad kept things bright, and the arancini were crispy and cheesy. Loved the martini with a focaccia garnish — such a fun touch.
Service was thoughtful but relaxed, which made the night even better. Can’t wait to come back for more food and cocktails.

Great Food, Service, and Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was very positive. The food was good, and the service was great, especially Francesca. The prices were not bad, and the atmosphere was good.
They also have a full bar with great bartenders.

A True Hidden Gem with Amazing Food
This restaurant is a true hidden gem, tucked away just off of 19th Ave. The beautiful decor and upscale feel create a wonderful atmosphere. We were greeted by the hostess and promptly seated as we had reservations.
For drinks, we started with some thirst-quenching Italian sodas. The focaccia was fluffy and light, perfect for dipping in garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. I could have eaten three orders of just that!
Their Caesar salad was so refreshing. For entrees, we chose the risotto and rigatoni. The rigatoni, served with sliced sausages and meatballs in a wonderfully thick sauce, was on a whole other level.
Everything on the menu is great.

Hidden Gem for Authentic Italian Food
Tucked away from the bustling crowds in San Francisco, this adorable and unassuming corner spot on Ocean Ave is a true neighborhood gem. My experience was fantastic, largely due to their hand-made pastas and an excellent selection of Italian wine. It's a delightful find for anyone who loves Italy and authentic Italian cuisine, saving us from a long trip to Russian Hill.
Yum yum yum, we love to see it (and eat it)!

Disappointing Italian Family Dinner
I do not recommend this place for Italian food, especially the family option. While the drinks were great, the family 3-option dinner was not worth the approximately $70 per person spent. We received a small appetizer plate and a good salad, but the house pasta was disappointing.
The chicken added for an extra $21 fee had too much skin and fat, and the pasta itself resembled chow mein more than traditional Italian pasta. Overall, the experience was not worth it.

A Neighborhood Gem That Never Disappoints
I really love this restaurant and hope it stays open for a long time because the neighborhood needs it. Perhaps those who gave it fewer stars were there on a bad night, but I've been more than a handful of times, and it never disappoints. It has a simple menu with occasional specials, and how can you go wrong with the generously portioned $35 family meals offered three times a week?
I also can't complain about the prices either – the plates are shareable. Everything from start to finish, including the friendly servers, makes it a place I look forward to eating good, no-frills food again and again.

Hidden Gem with Great Food and Atmosphere
This place must be new because not enough people know about it. My experience was fantastic! The food was great, and they offer deals on wine bottles on certain nights.
It's a lovely place for a celebration dinner with a small group of friends.
