Delicious Banh Mi and Coffee!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had a delicious Chicken banh mi, and the Vietnamese coffee was also great. The bread was sooo fresh, which really made the banh mi stand out. The location is convenient to public transit and also near parks, making it easy to grab a bite and then relax outdoors.

Good Sandwiches, Difficult Communication
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. While the sandwiches were good 👍 👌, the communication with the staff was challenging as they could barely speak English. The atmosphere was rated a 3 out of 5, and the service a 2 out of 5. Parking was difficult to find, and the noise level was moderate. Overall, the food quality was a strong point with a rating of 4 out of 5.

Authentic and Delicious Banh Mi
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had the grilled pork banh mi, which had incredible flavor and truly hit the spot. The sandwiches are described as quick and authentic, and they certainly lived up to that. The food quality was rated a 5 out of 5, and the service also received a perfect 5. The atmosphere was rated a 5, and the noise level was quiet, making it easy to talk. It's a great spot for a solo diner with plenty of parking available.

Delicious Banh Mi and Egg Rolls!
My experience at this restaurant was wonderful. I enjoyed their delicious banh mi and egg rolls. The jalapenos had just the right amount of kick, and the acidity of the pickled veggies created a delicious sandwich. The food, service, and atmosphere were all rated a 5 out of 5.

Disappointing Fried Banana Fritter
My experience at the restaurant was a disappointment. I tried the fried banana fritter, but there was NO banana in it. It was basically a piece of hard fried dough for $3.

Delicious Tofu Bahn Mi & Kind Staff
I get a bahn mi from Nissi any time I’m near Othello station, which is quite often! They make an unreal delicious tofu bahn mi, and it includes delicious mushrooms. They are accommodating to making vegetarian versions of foods. I saw a delicious fried egg/rice paper stuffed with bean sprouts and meat, and they made me a vegetable one just because they saw I wanted to try it. The shop owner and staff are so kind. I will be coming to this shop frequently, thank you Nissi!

Fantastic Bánh Mì & Coffee Deal!
I was in the mood for bánh mi and Vietnamese coffee, and there are a ton of little places in this neighborhood I've been wanting to try forever. When I got here, I was excited to see they had Tofu vermicelli since I don't eat beef or pork, so I swapped to that. Everything is take-out. I got home and unpacked that and the chicken mini-egg rolls I got, and everything was fantastic. The mushrooms in the vermicelli were also really yummy. They make a ton of egg rolls, and they keep them in a warm case, so they get a little tough, but dip those crunchy suckers into some sweet chili sauce, and you will be very happy. So anyway, I still have to go back and try the tofu bánh mi plus all the other places in that plaza and on MLK. Oh! And I got all that plus the Vietnamese coffee for $20!

Terrible Experience with Beef Short Ribs
I have a personal policy, my "sleep-on-it" rule, for writing negative reviews. It's simple: if I'm still compelled to share my terrible experience the next day, it must be truly awful. Most places, thankfully, don't make the cut. Then there's Nissi. The glowing reviews lured us in, but I'm starting to think those people have either never eaten food before or were dining at a different restaurant entirely. We ate around 3 p. M. , and from that moment on, it was a battle. The next morning, our bodies wisely decided to stage a full-scale evacuation, and let's just say the diarrhea was a welcome relief. We both ordered the beef short rib broken rice. Now, I know short ribs have some connective tissue — that's part of what gives them their rich flavor when they're cooked properly. The long, slow cooking process is supposed to break that down so the meat becomes tender and the fat and collagen melt into the sauce. What we were served, however, was a bizarre collection of rubbery, tendon-like bits that were impossible to chew. It was like a game of culinary Russian roulette, and my teeth lost every round. The excessive sauce seemed like a desperate attempt to hide the fact that the meat was, well, an ancient relic. And don't even get me started on the plaza itself. The walkway had a certain. "urban decay" aesthetic, and the parking lot was littered with debris. The whole place could use a serious cleaning. So long!

Excellent Bánh Mì and BBQ Chicken!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I ordered the Bánh mi, Bánh Ít Trần (glutinous rice dumpling), and bbq chicken Gà Nướng, all at 8 am! The food was great, the service was fast, and their website was very easy to use for ordering. I also appreciated the large amount of food for a very reasonable price, making it a 10/10 experience. The Bánh mi was perfectly crispy with the right amount of toppings on the bbq pork. The bbq chicken was the absolute highlight, reminiscent of Cantonese duck but uniquely its own. They are definitely doing things right here.
