Cute Spot with Great Food and Service
This place is so cute! The food, service, and ambiance were all great. While it's not quite as top-notch as some Michelin-star businesses I'm visiting in the Bay Area, the team here is kick-ass.
I especially loved the expo concept that highlights plating and finishing in front of guests.

Good Food, Lacking Wow Factor
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. While the food was generally good, nothing truly stood out as exceptional or great. Starting with the dishes, the Yellowtail and beets were good, and the accompanying sauce was my favorite flavor of the entire meal.
The Scallops and sweet potatoe were also good, and I enjoyed them as my favorite course, though the scallops themselves lacked a distinct flavor. The Steak was cooked well and rare, which I personally prefer, although my business partner did not, and it would have been nice to be asked about our preference. The sauce with the steak was good, but the steak and mushrooms themselves left something to be desired, as they seemed to lack salt or seasoning.
The Dessert was great with no complaints. Service-wise, everyone was nice. However, for a 4-course meal, I expected more frequent check-ins to see how things were.
They were attentive with water refills. The restaurant's atmosphere was beautiful, with no complaints there. Overall, while the individual components were decent, there wasn't anything that made me want to return.

Innovative Fusion with Minor Wine Quibbles
My experience at this restaurant was a delightful fusion of French bistro and Japanese creativity, resulting in an explosive and positive culinary journey. The blow torched hamachi and the scallops with a saffron infused bernaise were particularly impressive dishes. The atmosphere was rated a perfect 5, and the service also received a 5-star rating.
While the noise level was loud, conversation was still possible. I would suggest broadening the wine choice beyond natural wines, but otherwise, it's a perfect spot.

Raw lamb, hectic atmosphere
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The Lamb Loin was too raw for my liking. The atmosphere felt a bit hectic and rushed, with too many chefs and waiters running around.
The place is very tiny and tight, which contributes to the feeling of being cramped given all the movement. Despite these issues, the service and food were rated a 4 out of 5.

Disappointing Experience, Nice People
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. I had high expectations, but something felt missing. The food was a little heavy, and while there were some good ideas, they couldn't quite come together.
The fixed menu offered no choice at all, which was a significant drawback. Overall, it was a miss for us. However, the people working there were super nice.

Interesting Menu, Poor Service
My experience at this restaurant offered an inexpensive set menu, which I believe is the right approach given the complexity and flavor of the dishes. The chef attempts to blend classic French cuisine with modern touches, achieving moderate success. Some dishes leaned heavily on cream and richness, while others were quite acidic and harsh.
The wine list was interesting, featuring many left-field choices. However, the service was indifferent at best and at times surly. I believe there are better choices available in the neighborhood.

Heavy Food, Disappointing Drinks
I was looking for a nice-ish restaurant to spend around $100, and this place would have fit the bill if I hadn't ordered an extra starter for $26. Overall, the quality was great for the cost. I dined alone and found the taste to be pretty okay.
The menu of the day included razor clams (my extra starter), mackerel, monkfish, lamb loin, and a sorbet or gelato. The sourdough bread from Josey Baker was amazing, and the monkfish was my favorite dish. However, everything felt very heavy, and I suspect every dish contained cream.
This heaviness and perceived imbalance in proportions led me to give a 3-star rating. All dishes were "entree size, " and I wished they were smaller. Later that night, I experienced terrible stomach pains, possibly due to the cream or meat.
On a positive note, the kitchen was almost all women, which was cool, and I appreciated that the 18% gratuity was included. A significant disappointment was the lack of non-alcoholic drink options beyond water, especially since there are many good N/A wines available. I think this is a dine once spot for me, as I generally prefer less heavy food.

Disappointing Experience Despite Nice Presentation
My experience at this restaurant was a mix of visually appealing food and significant service and quality issues. While the food was well plated and looked nice, and the dessert was good, the overall dining experience was marred by several problems. The wine list was underwhelming and odd.
They struggled with timing multiple seatings, leading to a wait outside. The octopus had the texture as if it was 3 days old. The most egregious issue was a piece of pork that was 80% fat.
When brought to the server's attention, the response was dismissive, and the remade dish was incomplete, missing several ingredients. The restaurant also forcibly added an 18% tip without checking on the meal's quality again. Given the price point ($100+ per person), this level of service and food quality is unacceptable.

Promising French-Inspired Cuisine with Room for Improvement
Overall, my experience was okay, with real opportunities to make the place great! The food was great, definitely French-inspired but with some fun, unexpected twists. We were served crudo, quick-seared tuna, and steak as the first three courses.
My main feedback is that all three courses were served pretty raw (intentionally). Nothing wrong with that, but after three courses of raw food, I was kind of ready to move on. The service was good.
However, although the staff was nice, no one really explained the add-ons for the evening, and each dish was presented with a generic overview of the ingredients. I guess I just wanted a bit more – tell me why this wine is being served with this dish! Tell me why the chef was inspired to cook a particular dish!
It was also kind of a rushed experience; we were out within 1 hour and 15 minutes, which I think is so fast! I think with a few tweaks, this place could be great.
