Hair in ramen, won't return
My experience at this restaurant was mixed. The service was variable; on my first visit, it took a very long time to get the waiter's attention. The second visit was better in terms of service. However, I found a hair in my ramen at the bottom of the bowl during my second visit, which was a significant issue. Due to this, I won't be eating here again. Additionally, there is no parking in the area, not even a garage, making it difficult to find parking.

Disappointing Changes to Bento Boxes
I'm really disappointed to see the changes to their bento boxes. They used to come with 6 side dishes such as fried tofu, edamame, and honey-glazed sweet potatoes. Now it's been reduced to just a green salad and mashed potatoes. Even worse, the salad dressing and gravy on the potatoes were so salty they were inedible. I've been a long-time customer since before they were called Menya, but with these changes, I don't see myself returning.

Authentic Ramen Lunch with a Friend
I was visiting San Francisco and my high school classmate and best friend took me to this Ramen restaurant for lunch. It was quite authentic Japanese food. After lunch, we went to a nearby coffee shop for a chat; it was a very relaxing day!

Delicious Vegan Miso Ramen
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! I had the spicy vegan miso ramen, which had so much depth of flavor. The noodles were firm and the soy meat was yummy. The service, atmosphere, and food were all rated a perfect 5 out of 5.

Disgusted by Cook's Hygiene
My experience at this restaurant was extremely unpleasant. I had to get up from my table and leave because the cook, who was wearing a lot of jewelry, was picking his nose while preparing food. It was pretty sick.

Good Food, Poor Service
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The food was good, with a rating of 4 out of 5. However, the service was poor, rated at 1 out of 5. It felt like the staff member was forced to work there, and they didn't proactively offer anything, not even water. My first experience was much better, especially with the Japanese waitress. The atmosphere was pleasant, rated at 4 out of 5.

Delicious Vegan Ramen Experience
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially for vegan ramen lovers. I tried the vegan shoyu, which was one of the absolute best I've had in SF. I also sampled the vegan creamy ramen, which was half eaten in the picture, and it was apparently really good too. The service was excellent, rated a 5, and the food also received a perfect 5. The atmosphere was also very pleasant, scoring a 4. For vegetarians, this place is highly recommended, with delicious vegan ramen options and a vegetarian menu available. The wait time was non-existent, and the price per person is between $10–20.

Tasty Food, But Service Lacking
I used to come here for lunch, and this place was one of my favorites. However, they've changed the waitstaff. The current waiter is a kind of rude young guy with mean looks. Whenever you order, he gives you 'the looks' and didn't even bother to ask if you needed water, only returning for the check. I really liked the previous Japanese waitress who was kind. Not sure what happened here. The only good thing about this restaurant is that the food is still tasty. 😋

Disappointing Ramen Experience
I walked into this ramen joint expecting a comforting meal, but instead, I witnessed a rather disheartening kitchen process. The ramen appeared to be frozen and still in its plastic Tupperware when it was dunked into boiling water. This visual was hard to forget and certainly didn't enhance the taste. After being the first customer to arrive, I waited thirty-three minutes for my food, even though only three tables were occupied. The broth was rich and creamy, but the meat was tired, freezer-burnt reheats. The bill for three bowls and a shrimp tempura came to $100, including the tip. The restaurant itself seemed like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while; the bathroom, even as an early customer, told a story. The staff tried, but the service felt disjointed, like a band playing off-key. While this place might satisfy a craving if you're starving and not particular, if you value authentic ramen, it's best to look elsewhere.

Disappointing Ramen, Service is Okay
My experience at this restaurant was quite mid. The ramen itself was not up to par compared to other places in the city. The effort put into preparation, presentation, and taste was lacking. While the service was fine and friendly, the core offering, the ramen, fell short. Given that ramen prices are generally similar across restaurants, I’d recommend going somewhere else that takes their art more seriously.
