I used to go to this location all the time because the food was so good and consistent. Today, I felt the food was not as good. They loaded me up on the proteins that come with a bowl, but when I paid extra for steak, they definitely did not match the portion size of the other proteins. I'm a little upset with this location tonight.

I had a lovely experience here. The lady who took my order, Zoe, was very polite, and I can tell she's a hard worker. The food was great and the atmosphere was great as well. I would definitely come back!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but sadly today I came to my local Makai. The person taking my order, Shay P, had a nasty attitude while taking our order. The food is good, but the service is making me not want to come here again.

I absolutely love this place and the food is great every single time. I visited on a Tuesday night, about an hour and a half before closing, to order four plates for my family. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter made a face and rudely asked, "White rice or brown? " When I replied, "White rice for all please, " she proceeded to angrily scoop out the rice. At that point, I decided to leave, saying, "You know what, forget it love, sorry to bother you. I'm good. " I had to walk out. I understand that food service can be challenging, but customers should not be treated that way. Consequently, I won't be returning for a while.

I don't usually give low reviews, but my friend and I were excited to come to this place and honestly, the experience we had was disappointing. The employees were fine, but when it came to adding sides, we were met by a woman who looked like she hated her job. She had a frown on her face and rolled her eyes a couple of times, even though we were ordering normally. She also didn't ask my friend if she wanted tomatoes and wonton crisps on her salad, even though the other employee asked me. The food was fine; I'm not an expert, but I believe this place wasn't really Hawaiian but more Hawaiian-inspired with a mix of other Asian foods (kimchi slaw, teriyaki chicken/steak). The rice was mushy because they had added too much water, and the steak was too salty. Other than that, the chicken was pretty good.

My experience at this restaurant was excellent, and I make a point to drive further out to this specific location because they are the only ones I haven't experienced undercooked meat from! The salad is fresh, the chicken katsu is crispy, and the pulled pork is tender with flavor. The service was top-notch, rated 5/5, and the food quality was also very good, rated 4/5. The atmosphere was pleasant, rated 4/5. While parking can be somewhat difficult to find, the overall experience was very positive.

My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I highly recommend coming here. The service was exceptional, with Shay being incredibly helpful and friendly. The food and atmosphere were also top-notch, contributing to a wonderful dining experience.

My experience at this restaurant was terrible and disappointing. I placed an order and was given a specific time to pick it up. Upon arrival, my order was not ready, and I witnessed other customers who arrived later receive their orders before mine. Despite the long wait, my name was not called, and there was no apology offered. The service was disgusting, and the employees showed a lack of teamwork and communication. To make matters worse, the chicken was cold and the coleslaw was rotten. This was a complete waste of my money and time. I will never return to this location. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀ 🤮🤯

I placed an order for pickup through Uber Eats at 8: 15 PM. When I arrived around 8: 30 PM, the staff informed me they had no record of my Uber order. I noticed their food was already put away and they were cleaning. I asked if they had other locations, and they mentioned Uber would call to confirm the issue for my refund. A worker agreed to answer the call. However, when Uber called, the worker answered and hung up after only 5 seconds, causing Uber to apologize. Around 8: 45 PM, when I tried to re-enter to speak with them, both doors were locked. Although I eventually received my refund, the entire experience was very frustrating, especially after driving over 30 minutes. If the restaurant closes at 8 PM, the hours should be updated accordingly.

I might be misunderstanding, but I expected Hawaiian food and found dishes like teriyaki chicken, poki bowls, and edamame, which are common at most Asian restaurants. If this is indeed Hawaiian cuisine, then my perspective might be off. However, based on my experience, the food was just okay, and I wouldn't return.
