Amazing Bánh Mì and Coffee!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I tried the bánh mì grilled pork, and it was incredibly amazing and fresh. I also shared a Vietnamese iced coffee, which was equally amazing. The staff was very friendly. This is a must-try place for sure.

Excellent Pastries, Salads, and Drinks!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I enjoyed their excellent pastries, fresh salads, and delicious sandwiches. They offer a great selection of fresh baguettes, croissants, and even dumplings. To drink, I tried their smoothies and other drinks, along with a variety of goodies. The counter service was efficient, and there was lots of seating available, making for a comfortable visit.

Classic Vibe, Amazing Sandwiches!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. I remembered stopping here literally THREE TIMES while working in S. F. They remembered my order, made me feel welcomed, and the sandwiches always HIT 🙌🏾. I also love that classic vibe in there too. Definitely don't sleep on this spot!

Best Vietnamese Desserts in SF - Go Now!
My experience at this restaurant was bittersweet. The Vietnamese desserts and food are the best deal in SF, offering an incredible variety that I haven't found elsewhere in the city. I particularly enjoyed the Tricolor Coconut Shredded Tam Khoai Mi ($3. 99), the Durian Essence Banh Da Lon ($3. 99), and the green leaf wrapped cha ($7). Unfortunately, the restaurant is currently closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is operating with limited hours (7 am-3 pm) as there's a lease/for sale sign on the building. It's uncertain if it will close permanently once sold, so I urge others to visit while they still can. The reviewer also expressed sadness about the condition of Little Saigon/Tenderloin, suggesting the SF government needs to improve street cleaning and address issues with loitering. They do accept credit cards.

Lee's Sandwiches: Faded Charm, Okay Banh Mi
My experience at Lee's Sandwiches felt like it has seen better days. The once abundant display of food items upon entering is now put away, and the menu on the wall is faded with prices scribbled over. Lee's might be an option if other sandwich places down the street have long lines. While waiting for my combo banh mi ($6. 50) and Korean BBQ banh mi ($10), I felt a sense of unfairness seeing the female workers dealing with the dilapidated conditions outside. It wasn't always like this. Nevertheless, the banh mi's were OK. They are best enjoyed on the same day and don't hold up well in the refrigerator.

Affordable Vietnamese Food - But Is It Still Open?
My experience at this restaurant was centered around their affordable Vietnamese food. I was particularly looking forward to trying their “bánh da lợn” and “xôi”. The food quality was excellent, earning a perfect score. However, upon my recent visit after a few months, I was disheartened to find that all the street-level windows were boarded up, leading me to believe the restaurant has closed. It's a shame, as they also offered delicious “chè thái” and “bánh mì”.

Excellent Banh Mi, Awkward Location
I had an excellent experience with the banh mi sandwiches. However, the neighborhood where the store is located is not exactly tourist-friendly or people-friendly.

Mixed Feelings: Good Food, Sad Atmosphere
This place is trying its best, offering delicious foods and drinks. However, the exterior, with boarded-up windows, didn't look very appealing. Inside, it was mostly empty with a limited selection of packaged foods, feeling quite barren compared to its pre-pandemic state. They have a large menu of both made-to-order and pre-made items. The drinks are in refrigerators with roll-up doors, easily accessible by pulling down the metal handle. There's also a limited seating area with a few stools. I tried two chicken egg rolls and a cup of che thai. The egg rolls were oily but tasty, though priced at $2. 99 for two, which felt a bit pricy. The Che Thai, at $6. 50, was really good with plenty of jellies and perfectly sweetened coconut milk. They do offer other, less expensive drinks. My total after tax for the dessert/drink and two egg rolls was $9. 75. Overall, I liked the place, and other customers seemed happy. There was a large variety of items on sale, and the place itself is quite big. With the empty shelves, it was easy to imagine how nice it must have been before the pandemic. Currently, the place felt a bit sad, and I found the items to be overpriced.

Authentic Vietnamese Sandwiches
I love that this restaurant is located in the Tenderloin. It truly tests the courage of Vietnamese sandwich lovers to brave those streets. My experience was centered around the authentic Vietnamese sandwiches.
