Flavorful Food, But Too Hot Inside
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The food was incredibly flavorful, which was a definite highlight. However, the main issue was the ambience.
With the Cali heat, there was no fan or AC in the restaurant, making it uncomfortably hot. While we were still able to eat, it would have been much better if the place was cooler inside. On the positive side, the price was fair and the service was great.

Sad to see this authentic Nicaraguan gem close
I'm sad to know this place will be closing its doors after 39 years of serving the community with authentic Nicaraguan dishes. Their last day is September 27th. This place has been in SF for so long, and their dishes are so awesome.
So please come and get these foods before they are gone for good.

Delicious Home-Style Fried Pork!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! The food is really good, with a genuine home taste. I especially loved the puerco frito (fried pork).
I truly recommend it!

Good Carne Asada, Awful Quesillo
My experience at the restaurant was mixed. The carne asada was very good, but the quesillo was disgusting. The tortillas were not handmade; they seemed artificial and came from bags.
The quesillo itself was awful, like they bought Mexican Oaxaca cheese and then cooked and kneaded it. The sour cream was thick and acidic, and the onions were the same ones used for the chileros. I felt like I lost my money.

Best Sopa de Res in SF!
I'm not an expert, but this was the best Sopa de res I've had in San Francisco. The price was good, the restaurant was clean, and the stuff was nice.

Best Carne Asada in the Bay Area!
As the good Nicaraguan says, "how delicious this is! " This is the best carne asada I've ever eaten in the Bay Area. Such a delicious thing 🤤 😍.
It was juicy and cooked to perfection. The gallopinto was to die for, and the tajadas were incredible. The fresco de semilla de jicaro was also delicious.
Without a doubt, I will be returning.

Disappointing Return to Las Tinajas
I returned to Las Tinajas after a 3-year absence and was sooooo disappointed in both the food and the service. The restaurant was dead, a stark contrast to the thriving, busy place it used to be. The cabbage salad was awful, completely lacking in taste, and the carrots tasted old and dusty.
I will not be going back. I wouldn’t have minded paying $77 for our two meals if they had been good, let alone delicious!

Unremarkable and Bland Food
My experience at the restaurant was underwhelming. The food was insipid and lacked good seasoning; it was truly unremarkable. I wouldn't recommend letting appearances sway your decision.

Food cold, no taste, terrible Nacatamal
I’m not sure but the experience was not the same as before. The food was cold and had no taste. The tipico the Nacatamal was terrible.
Sorry, but this is the truth.
