Great Gluten-Free Option with Excellent Service
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially as a gluten-free diner. It's a great option for quick gluten-free and vegetable-forward food. The service was surprisingly great, even for an order-at-the-counter establishment. I also appreciated that my dine-in order was served on real plates and my tea in a real glass cup, rather than disposable containers.

Great Lunch Spot with Amazing Staff
This is my go-to spot for ordering lunch when I don’t want to feel like I’ve overdone it all afternoon :) I love that I can make my own bowls, and the crispy chicken bowl is always great. The staff here deserve a special shout-out for being so accommodating and careful with my baby daughter’s allergies. I called to confirm a few things and have been so impressed by the clean ingredients and the care they take in the kitchen.

Great Experience, Hope for More Locations!
My experience at this restaurant was awesome. I've tried this location and the one in Oakland, and both were great. I would love to see one open in Portland!

Disappointing Veggie Patty Experience
My experience at this restaurant was largely defined by a disappointing dish. I would strongly advise against ordering the protein bowl with the veggie patty. The veggie bean patty itself was not good, and its texture was further compromised by the consistent consistency of hummus, avocado, and overdone sweet potatoes. While the service and atmosphere were rated a 4, the food quality, particularly this dish, was a significant letdown with a score of 2.

Kitava: A Wholesome Mission Gem
My experience at Kitava in San Francisco’s Mission District was an absolute game-changer! I ordered the BYO bowl with Paprika Chicken and the Farmers Green Bowl, and both were bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a smoky paprika kick, tender and juicy, while the Farmers Green Bowl was a colorful mix of crisp greens. Every bite felt nourishing yet indulgent, which is hard to pull off! What really sets Kitava apart is their commitment to clean eating—100% free of seed oils, gluten, dairy, and other common allergens, which makes it a haven for anyone with dietary restrictions or just looking for real, wholesome food. The fact that they avoid seed oils entirely is a huge plus, as it’s rare to find a spot that prioritizes such high-quality, health-conscious ingredients without sacrificing taste. The service was friendly and quick, and the casual, clean vibe of the place made it a perfect spot for a feel-good meal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit—Kitava is a must-try gem in the Mission! Five stars all the way.

Great Healthy Bowls and Chill Vibe
I frequently visit Kitava for lunch as I work nearby. My go-to is the power bowl, which is packed with good ingredients. I also brought my girlfriend here before a night out, and she thoroughly enjoyed her plantain bowl. While Mission Street can get busy, Kitava itself offers a nice chill place. The food is healthy, decently filling, and not horribly expensive. I'm happy to have it in the area.

Celiac Dream Come True!
My experience at Kitava was amazing! I can’t wait to go back. For Celiac people, this place is a dream come true. Everything we ate was beyond delicious. Thank you, Kitava! Everyone in my party raved about their food. We found our Mecca😊.

Not Worth the Price
My experience at the restaurant involved ordering a custom bowl for $22. It was served with 4 pieces of fried chicken, 3 zucchini slices, and rice. I found the meal to be not worth the price and the food was not good enough.

Amazing, Healthy Airport Food!
My experience at this restaurant was amazing! I was so thankful to find a place like this in San Francisco. The Kitava at the airport (Terminal 1) served the absolute best dark chocolate vegan soft serve I've ever had. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food is affordable. I'm grateful for the vegan options that are seed oil free, refined sugar free, and delicious. It's wonderful to have food like this at the airport, in addition to the Kitava in the Mission district.
