A Safe Bet for an Exquisite Night
My experience at this restaurant was a safe bet for an exquisite night. I was dazzled by just about anything on the menu. While the menu doesn't feature wildly exotic, hyper-seasonal flavors, it offers extremely well-executed, solid, familiar foods.
Everything from perfectly balanced salad dressings to thoughtful takes on panna cotta can be counted on to please any preference.

Wonderful Anniversary Dinner!
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant on our anniversary night. The food was amazing and the service was warm and attentive. The standout dish for us was the Fazzoletto (mushroom ragu pasta) — absolutely exceptional!

Excellent Food and Impeccable Service
My cousin hosted a private event at Il Nido earlier this year, and the experience was outstanding. The food was incredible, with every dish, from the breads and pastas to the salads and desserts, being absolutely delicious. The service was equally impeccable.
They were exceptionally accommodating with various food allergies at our table, preparing unique dishes tailored to each individual's needs. The owner was attentive and friendly, as was all the staff, whose presence was much appreciated. When asked for recommendations, they suggested drinks that delighted everyone.
I would recommend Il Nido for a tasty night out or a private event without any hesitation.

IL Nido: A Perfect Anniversary Celebration
My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at IL Nido, and it was an unforgettable evening. We arrived 30 minutes early and were graciously seated right away, which was a thoughtful gesture. To our delight, we received complimentary glasses of champagne to mark the occasion, a beautiful touch that made us feel truly celebrated.
The food was impeccable from the very first bite. The focaccia bread was warm, soft, and perfectly seasoned. The Fazzoletto was delicate and flavorful, showcasing refined Italian cuisine.
The Tagliatelle a Nido was a standout, with rich, silky pasta offering depth and comfort. For the main course, the 9oz Saratoga Cut Rib Eye was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. We ended the night with the Tiramisu, a perfect finale that was light yet indulgent and beautifully presented.
The staff's warmth and attentiveness truly made the experience exceptional. Every detail, from the champagne welcome to the pacing of each course, reflected genuine care and professionalism. IL Nido is an elegant, intimate, and deeply satisfying spot that makes any occasion feel extraordinary, especially for a milestone celebration.
We couldn’t have chosen a better place to toast to 25 years together.

Social Media Hype Misled: Disappointing Pasta Experience
We visited the restaurant yesterday after seeing numerous Instagram reels praising it. Since my spouse and I are vegetarian, we ordered a Burrata appetizer and one pasta dish each. I chose the Gnocchi from the menu, made with kale pesto—it was decent.
On our server’s recommendation, we also tried an off-menu option: Angel Hair Pasta with tomatoes, mushrooms, and Parmesan. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing for $42. It tasted like vermicelli in tomato soup, lacked flavor, and felt overpriced.
We won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to others. The social media hype was misleading.

Anniversary Dinner Exceeded Expectations
My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Il Nido, and our experience was truly exceptional from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated for our reservation. The restaurant offered complimentary sparkling wine to toast our anniversary, a thoughtful gesture we appreciated.
Our server was both attentive and friendly, providing an excellent recommendation for an Italian red wine that perfectly complemented our meal. We enjoyed two housemade pastas: the tagliatelle pork and beef ragu, and a seasonal “handkerchief” pasta with egg yolk and roasted corn, which was our favorite. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was wonderfully cozy and romantic.
We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit!

Incredible Food and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. The staff were incredible, going above and beyond to help when I mistakenly booked my group for the wrong week. They were also warm and genuinely friendly.
Beyond the great service, the food was incredible. The Fazzoletto was incredibly special and a must-try. All other dishes, including the salad, burrata, prosciutto, tagliatelle, and the special vegetarian pasta, were also so fresh & delicious.
There wasn't a bad bite among our group. We all agreed this is our favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle.

Elegant Dining with Exceptional Service
We secured a reservation at IL Nido through Resy's "notify list, " a testament to its popularity. The drive from downtown Seattle to this historic West Seattle building was about 20 minutes, placing it conveniently near the water. Upon entering, the "smart-casual" atmosphere immediately struck a balance between relaxation and awe.
Our host perfectly embodied this vibe, exuding charm, warmth, and understated elegance. Our waiter, Lorenzo, was exceptional. His deep menu knowledge made us feel like seasoned diners, guiding us expertly from wine selections to starters and even an "incredible arugula digestif.
" Standout dishes included the local oysters and fresh lobster mushroom pasta, each perfectly complemented by wine pairings, including a Rucolino Amaro after dessert. IL Nido is a rare find where service, setting, and food harmoniously enhance each other, creating an experience that is elegant yet comfortable, and high-quality without being pretentious. We found ourselves longing to return before the evening concluded, and the check revealed excellent value for the top-shelf quality.
Having dined at many top US restaurants, IL Nido is a favorite, potentially top three, for its masterful execution. It offers a "Chez Panisse with PNW vibes" experience, leaving you feeling both "wowed and at home. "
