Delicious Meal with Friendly Staff
I had a very nice meal and encountered very friendly personnel. We loved the crispy crab claw and the crispy duck with chives and peanut dumplings.

Excellent food and service, worth the price
This is my third time eating here. Though they are pricier than most dim sum places, the quality of the food is excellent. The service is very good too.

Stylish Atmosphere, Awesome Food!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! The atmosphere was a standout, managing to be both stylish yet comfortable. The music was at the perfect volume, contributing to a great vibe for unwinding and enjoying a meal. It's definitely a place with character. Furthermore, the food was all good and awesome.

Good Food, High Prices, Small Portions
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. The dim sum was pretty good, with every dish prepared well and tasting fresh. However, I'm not sure why the restaurant's ratings are so high. While the food was fine, the prices were exorbitant, especially given the small portions. A prime example was the $18 plate of black and pepper pork spare ribs, which consisted of only 8 little pieces of deep-fried pork that were mostly bones. The soup dumplings were very average, with a wrapper that was too thick and a meat filling that wasn't terribly flavorful. Similarly, the lotus-wrapped sticky rice was also very average; the small piece of pork in the middle was tasty, but the sticky rice lacked any real fragrance or flavor. Our favorite dish was the truffle salt shrimp toast. The service was great – attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is very small inside and can get quite noisy. The location is also strange, situated in a non-descript, somewhat dodgy part of Soma.

Favorite Dim Sum Spot in SF
My experience at HK Lounge Bistro was fantastic! I visited with a group of 3-4 people and found it to be one of my favorite dim sum and Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. The hargow and cheung fun were wonderfully soft and fresh. I also enjoyed the baked buns, which were perfectly savory and sweet. The food arrived fairly fast and was consistently fresh and delicious. On a subsequent visit during dinner, I tried the steamed Chilean seabass with tofu. Both the tofu and seabass were soft, topped with a delicious black bean sauce. We also ordered the glazed coffee Berkshire pork ribs. While these were okay, they were a bit too sweet for my personal taste. The servers were friendly and attentive, checking on us quite often. HK Lounge Bistro offers a great variety of different dishes to choose from.

Good Dim Sum with a Twist
I chose this restaurant because it was conveniently located near my hotel and had a good number of positive reviews. I'm glad I decided to try their dim sum. The menu offered a broader selection than is typical for dim sum places, which was a nice change. It was evident that everything is cooked to order. I sampled the chicken feet, fish Cheung fun, and steamed pork and shrimp dumplings. The chicken feet were particularly good, featuring a sauce with a pleasant sweetness and a hint of spice, and the meat was tender and not gelatinous. The steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, while appearing homemade and generously filled, were rather lacking in flavor, requiring a dip in chili soy sauce to add any taste. The Cheung fun was also fairly bland, as is often the case, but it had a great texture and was an unusual item to see on the menu.

Delicious Dim Sum, Worth the Price
My experience at this restaurant was centered around their incredible food. The bbq pork buns and the custard buns were an absolute MUST. While it's expensive for dimsum, I acknowledge that what isn't expensive these days 🤷.

Amazing Dim Sum, Cozy Atmosphere
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially for their amazing dim sum, which I'd consider some of the best in the city. During lunchtime, there's generally no wait, making it a convenient option. The dining room is small with frosted windows, creating a cozy atmosphere. The food arrived quickly and was freshly cooked. I highly recommend trying the soup dumplings and the dry fried green beans.

Westernized Chinese Food, Not Authentic
My experience at this restaurant was disappointing as it felt like a western restaurant with a Chinese skin. It's definitely not the place if you are looking for authentic Chinese food. The 红油抄手 was surprisingly sweet, which felt very westernized. The Peking duck was also a letdown, possibly the worst I've had, especially with the sweet buns. I'm unsure how this place received a Michelin star. A clear red flag was the absence of any Chinese customers the moment I entered.
