Great Takeout, Limited Seating
My experience was primarily as a take out place. The food was ready fast and served super hot, so much so that I had to wait a few minutes before I could eat it without burning my mouth. The taste was delicious and had a more authentic style than American.
However, being atop Beacon Hill, there's no parking and no seating area to eat, just a few chairs to wait for your order. I had to park a block away and eat in my car. Despite the lack of amenities, I had no regrets.

Delicious Sushi and Anticipation for Curry!
I was feeling under the weather, and sushi always cheers me up. My partner picked up the 39R and the pork katsu curry rice. The sushi portion was big, so I was unable to dig into the curry, but the smell is mouthwatering and I can't wait to dig in later!
My partner mentioned that a lovely woman tended to the order. The photos of memories on the wall gave evidence to a life filled with love and Seattle. Excited to visit in person some day!

Adequate Teriyaki, Gem of a Staff Member
My experience at the restaurant was simple. I had the teriyaki and an avocado roll. Both were adequate, but I would have paid a little extra for a more generous helping of teriyaki.
The flavor of the sauce was pretty good and the chicken was charred well. The rice had good texture and the salad dressing had some kick. The avocado roll was okay; I think it got a little warm being packaged with the teriyaki, so I can't speak to its texture, but the flavor was fine.
The person behind the counter is an absolute gem. 11/10.

Salmon Poke Disappointment
I'm choosing to give this local business 3 stars to avoid being overly negative. Unfortunately, the salmon poke had a peculiar sour taste. I couldn't pinpoint the source, whether it was the mayo or something else, as mayo typically doesn't have this flavor profile.
Sadly, I was unable to finish the dish.

Best Japanese Curry in Seattle!
My experience at this restaurant was exceptional. I honestly believe they serve some of the best Japanese curry in Seattle. I haven't found anything comparable, even at other dedicated Japanese curry restaurants or general Japanese eateries.
We feel fortunate to have them as our neighborhood restaurant.

Disappointing Poke Bowl Experience
My experience at this restaurant was largely disappointing, particularly with the poke bowl. While it was somewhat edible, it fell far short of expectations. The tuna was dry and multicolored, and I question if it was truly a poke bowl, as it seemed more like tuna sashimi with rice.
There was absolutely zero flavor, and I doubt it was marinated, appearing to be simply cubed when ordered. Although I appreciate the effort, the bowl had too much going on, with ingredients like wasabi, avocado, and pickled ginger that felt out of place for a poke bowl. In this instance, less would have been better.
I might consider returning to try other items, but I would strongly advise avoiding the poke bowl at all costs.

Great Sushi, Dated Decor
My experience at this restaurant was a mixed bag. I had really good sushi for a good price, which was a definite highlight. However, the place needs a facelift; it feels super dated in there.
While the food and value were excellent, the atmosphere could use a significant upgrade.

Hidden Gem in the Neighborhood!
It's so nice to have this place in my neighborhood, and I'm often surprised that so many locals are unaware of it! It's great to be able to get oyako don so close to home. The folks here are very friendly!

Best Chicken Katsu in Seattle
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had the chicken katsu, which was incredibly crispy and not oily at all. It was served with a refreshing salad that had a delicious ginger dressing.
This is hands down my favorite chicken katsu in Seattle.
