Authentic Japanese Experience in the US
My experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. It provided the most authentic Japanese restaurant experience I’ve ever had in the US. I genuinely felt like I was back in Japan!
The food was rated a perfect 5, and the atmosphere also received a 5-star rating. The service was equally impressive with a 5-star rating. I visited for lunch and found the price per person to be between $20–30.
I opted for counter seating.

Spicy Curry with a Weird Taste
My experience at this restaurant was marked by a spicy curry that had a weird taste. I'm unsure what made it special, especially when compared to the amazing Japanese curries I've had elsewhere. The atmosphere was rated a 5, suggesting a pleasant environment, and the food received a 4, indicating it was generally good despite the specific curry's unusual flavor.
The service was rated a 3, and the price per person was between $10–20.

Great Poke, But Watch Out for Leaks!
I found this to be a super cute spot for really good and reasonably priced Hawaiian style poke by the pound. The 356 option was a bit oily. As a PSA, their takeout containers aren’t well sealed, so a bunch of oil leaked out and got all over my bag, which was kind of the worst.
However, the poke itself is probably the best I’ve had in Seattle.

Cozy Japanese Spot with Great Curry
My experience at this small, cozy Japanese-style restaurant was quite pleasant. I had their curry with a soft egg added, which was delicious. The place is nice and affordable, and the portion sizes were just right – not too much food.
I also appreciated the lovely staff.

Potential but Lacking Food Execution
As someone who loves Japanese comfort food and has tried several of Gyo Gyo's sister restaurants, I really wanted to love this place. While the aesthetics and vibes are top-tier, the food unfortunately leaves little to be desired. The Premium bara chirashi had a disappointing amount of sashimi, and the rice had a peculiar taste, possibly the same used for their curries.
For sashimi, a touch of vinegar would have greatly improved the balance with the raw fish, which was missing. The miso soup was excessively salty; I had to add half a cup of unsalted chicken broth to make it palatable. Consequently, I was still hungry after my meal.
Gyo Gyo and its sister restaurants possess an extremely vibey atmosphere and immense potential, but they miss the mark in food execution.

Best Hole in the Wall Ramen Spot!
My experience at this restaurant was surprisingly fantastic. I initially wasn't craving Asian food, but decided to stop by on a whim. The food was so good that I contemplated ordering a second serving to-go for dinner.
Specifically, the Carbonara Salmon ramen was exceptional, prompting me to ask if it was a permanent menu item. The two gentlemen working were very nice, and the food arrived quickly. This is the best 'hole in the wall' spot I've been to in Seattle, and I'm already planning my return next week and have bookmarked it on my Google Maps.

Salmon Bento Caused Food Poisoning
Bruh, whoever prepared my food on October 6 when I got the salmon bento, ts gave me food poisoning. The food is good but not worth hours in the toilet.

Clumped noodles and missing utensils
My experience at the restaurant was disappointing. The noodles were clumped together in one piece and very difficult to eat. To make matters worse, they didn’t include any utensils, even though I requested them.

Great Value Lunch with Quick Service
I went with my boyfriend for lunch and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the bara-chirashi, which offered a great value to quality ratio. My boyfriend enjoyed his spicy salmon aloha bowl and particularly liked the TKG don add on.
The service was super quick, which was very appreciated. We would definitely visit again the next time we're in Seattle.
