Mixed Experience: Great Server, Okay Food
My experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. The wings were okay, with a good crunch, but they just needed more seasoning to be perfect 🤤. The fries, however, were disappointing; they had raw garlic chopped and thrown on top, and I felt they should have been sauteed with some cheese 🧀 and Parmesan.
On a positive note, the server/bartender was amazing and a cool dude. He personally made the night, and I'm thankful for our last-minute stop 😁. My drink 🍷 was also amazing 😍.

Wonderful Food and Service!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. Nobody in the party was grumpy after eating here, thanks to the wonderful food and service. I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich, which was perfect, and we shared a Caesar salad, also perfect.
The overall experience was excellent, with high marks for food, service, and atmosphere.

Great Local Bar with Excellent Pub Fare
My experience at Grumpy's was a fantastic blend of a classic local bar and a modern gastropub. The drinks were strong with generous pours, just as you'd expect from a neighborhood dive. While the food menu is primarily bar food and pub fare, everything was exceptionally well-prepared.
We found everything we ordered to be fresh and tasty, and surprisingly, nothing was overly greasy or heavy, defying common assumptions about bar food. It's a great place to eat and drink.

Stylish Sports Bar with Tasty Meatballs
I had lunch here with my family before visiting the Exploratorium. My wife and I ordered the meatball sandwich and a burger. The meatballs were particularly tasty, and the burger was nice too with a double patty.
The restaurant recently remodeled its interior, giving it a stylish sports bar vibe. The atmosphere was rated 5, service was 5, and food was 5, with a quiet noise level.

Good Family Meal with Minor Fry Disappointment
We visited as a family on a Thursday lunchtime and were promptly attended to. We tried two draft beers (pale and IPA) and sodas (Sprite and Coca), and the drinks were good. The Grumpy's Burgers, Meatball Sandwich, and pizza slices were also tasty.
Personally, I did not enjoy the fries; they were too thin and lacked flavor. The atmosphere was pleasant and warm, and the terrace space was appreciated. The staff were agreeable.

Excellent Sandwiches and Soup!
My husband and I were looking for a place to eat close to the Exploratorium, and we had a lucky find. My husband enjoyed the meatball sandwich, and I found the buttermilk chicken sandwich to be excellent. I also tried the fennel soup, which was seasoned so well and delicious.
The atmosphere and service were both rated a perfect 5, and the food was also rated a 5.
