Amazing Teriyaki and Grilled Chicken!
This place is Amazing! I had such good teriyaki and just loved all the food. It tastes like it’s fresh off the grill, and I want to know the recipe.
There is only a takeout counter, and I don’t think there is any seating there though. I would recommend to any and all meat eaters who loveeee grilled chicken foods.

Great GF Options and Bang Bang Chicken!
It was so great to have another spot with safe GF options. The bang bang chicken was so good and a nice change from my usual go-to GF spots. My friend and I preordered, and the meal was ready when we arrived.
However, there was a decent wait on a Friday night, so I would recommend ordering ahead. The portion sizes were filling. I would be excited to see a Grillbird open on the East side as well (fingers crossed).
I will definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

Incredible Value and Quality!
My experience at this restaurant was truly exceptional. I was absolutely blown away by the portion size, which is the largest I've seen for the price with teriyaki in over a decade. The quality of the food is also amazing.
For just $13, I received all of this, and I couldn't recommend it more!

Top-Notch Teriyaki and Katsu!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic, especially with their teriyaki. The quality of ingredients for the price was phenomenal. I also highly recommend trying their katsu.

Good Teriyaki and Meat-to-Rice Ratio
My experience at this restaurant was positive. I enjoyed the good teriyaki and the very nice meat to rice ratio. Following staff recommendations, I tried the teriyaki and the bam-bam mix supper.
The bam-bam was slightly spicy but not overly so. It's a good, fast place to get a meal.

Great Teri Chicken and Sides!
I had heard about Grillbird and their West Seattle location, but never made it out that way. Then I found the Phinney Ridge spot. I had the Teri chicken, bok choy, and cucumber salad for the sides.
All were great. I will come back to try more of the menu!

Disappointing Meal, Lacking Flavor
My experience at this restaurant was a waste of money. I ordered the katsu, which tasted overwhelmingly of oil. The accompanying sauce was also just ginger.
The spring rolls were okay, but I found a large chunk of fibrous ginger root in one. The sauce served with them, again, tasted solely of ginger. I suspect the ginger from other dishes might have overpowered it, as the cucumber salad had no discernible flavor for me, tasting only of vinegar.
The salad also contained cucumber bits that looked like compost material. This lack of attention to detail, evidenced by the ginger root fiber and poor salad quality, was disappointing. Overall, the food is a 1 out of 10 for me.
I would not serve what I received to anyone, and certainly would not have charged so much for it.

Amazing Ohana Meal Deal!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic, especially with the Ohana meal. It's hands down one of the best deals in Seattle, offering so much food! Everything was fresh and delicious.

Disappointing Takeout Experience
I ordered takeout from this restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and both experiences were disappointing. Overall, the food is overly saucy and oily. The chow mein was literally dripping with oil and lacked the usual mix of vegetables, coming only with bok choy.
It had a flat, overly peppery flavor with what tasted like too much star anise. I would strongly advise against it. The chicken katsu for lunch was decent, but the breading was dark and almost burnt-tasting.
Later, we ordered the chicken katsu sando for our daughter, who normally loves anything involving meat, and she refused to eat it. The breading was a very dark brown, and the chicken was slightly overcooked and borderline dry. Their mac was really tasty the first time, but when we ordered it again, it was overly mayo-heavy and lacked any real depth of flavor—as if they forgot everything except the mayonnaise.
Overall, the food feels greasy and overly reliant on heavy sauces. After two tries, we probably won’t be giving this place another chance.

Excellent Teriyaki and 5 Spice Beef!
My experience at this restaurant was fantastic! I had the excellent teriyaki, which featured quality ingredients, good portions, and was spiced perfectly. The 5spice beef was a definite wow.
This is primarily a take out place, and their online ordering setup made pick up easy.
