My experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to the incredibly small portion sizes. For $12, I received one meat and two sides, which felt like a "baby scoop" 😰. The food quality, service, and atmosphere were all rated low (2/3/2 respectively), contributing to a negative overall experience.

My experience at this restaurant was disappointing due to the portion size, despite the food itself being good. The place has undergone a lot of remodeling. My child and I were bummed out that they no longer serve ice cream. I ordered an $8 to-go box of beef and broccoli. Since my child was with me, I didn't see how much the lady put into the box. The food display indicated that nothing was running low and it was fully stocked. Therefore, I was surprised and upset to find the box only half-filled upon opening it, especially considering the box was quite large. I had intended to share this box with my child for lunch at home. I felt scammed out of my money. However, the food was good and we wished we could have had more. I should have gone to the other Chinese store nearby, but since they had remodeled, I thought I'd check this place out. It was a big mistake. I recommend finding a different place for Chinese food.

If you're in the area and looking for takeout while on a budget, this is a great option. The owner is very kind to all of her customers and gives very generous portions. The food is decent, but the decor is dated. I wouldn't recommend dining in, but she has a few chairs for you to sit on. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Support our local businesses, especially ones that treat their guests very well like this one.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's still good food for a more than reasonable price. The Egg Roll is a recommended dish.

My experience at this restaurant was a true highlight of San Bruno Avenue. The Chinese food is incredibly inexpensive, with small servings that are large enough for a quick lunch. Their ice cream is also absolutely delicious, and the bubblegum flavor is highly recommended. The woman who works there every single day is always friendly, very helpful, has a smile on her face, and is excited to serve you. I encourage everyone to go support this amazing woman.

Don't let the name fool you! Giant Scoop Cafe is more than just an ice cream shop. It's a convenient and affordable place to grab some good Chinese food to go.
