Authentic Chinese Food, Great Value
My experience at this Chinese restaurant was very positive. It's a spacious and clean establishment offering authentic mainland Chinese food. The staff were fast and friendly, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. The prices were also very reasonable. If you're looking to enjoy Chinese food, I highly recommend coming here; you will not be disappointed.

Great Cha Chaan Teng Experience
My experience at this lovely neighborhood cha chaan teng was excellent. I'm a big fan of their bbq pork purple rice cheong fun and yuenyeung. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch.

Wonton Soup Disappointment
My experience at Fung Wong Restaurant on Noriega Street, San Francisco, Ca 94122 on Thursday, September 4, 2025, was a significant disappointment. My sister and I ordered the wonton fun soup, and it was the worst wonton we have ever eaten. The wontons were not fresh and were overcooked, resulting in them being dry, hard, and chewy, with rubbery, tough shrimp. I suspect the meat was nearing spoilage. This was a stark contrast to our visit two weeks prior, on August 27, 2025, when I ordered the same wonton fun soup. My sister enjoyed it so much that we returned for more. On that occasion, the wontons were juicy, tender, and delicious – truly the best wonton soup. Unfortunately, my brother and sister-in-law also shared the same disappointment with their wonton noodle soup during this recent visit.

Excellent Asian Food and Service
My experience at this local popular Asian restaurant was outstanding. The steamed geoduck clam was the best I've had, and their HK milk tea (without condensed sugar milk) was also a highlight. The service was excellent, contributing to a perfect dining experience.

Authentic Chinese, Parking a Challenge
My experience at this restaurant was marked by its pretty authentic Chinese cuisine. I would definitely visit again if I find myself nearby Noriega St in SF. However, the parking situation was hard.

Warming Comfort Food, Mom Approved!
My experience at this local noodles porridge house was one of quick, warming comfort foods. It's the kind of place that feels like mom would approve. ❤️

Disappointing Congee Experience
My experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. We were initially served the wrong bowl of congee. After asking five times, the correct order finally arrived. However, it seemed they had simply changed the ingredients in the same bowl and added water to compensate, resulting in a watery congee with very few ingredients. This is not a good way to conduct business, and I will not be returning.

Delicious and Economical Food!
I visited for breakfast and tried their French toast, steam rice rolls, and pan fried noodles to sample their range of food. Everything was delicious and economical. I also picked up a wonton noodle soup with milk tea to-go. I will definitely come back with the kids for dinner soon.

Fast, Affordable, With Minor Hiccups
My experience at this restaurant was generally positive, marked by fast and affordable food. While the service was efficient, there was an occasional issue with dirty dishes. However, this was easily resolved by asking for a new set. The only dish I would caution against is the pork chop over spaghetti.

Solid Portions, Not Authentic HK Style
Fung Wong is a solid spot if you’re looking for big portions at a very reasonable price, but don’t expect Hong Kong-style Cantonese food. The flavors and execution felt more Toisan-style. I tried the Hainanese chicken rice, which came with a generous serving of garlic rice that was a bit different from what I’m used to. The chicken portion was large, but it was quite bony, and the broccoli on the side was just plain boiled. My wife ordered the shrimp with scrambled egg rice, but it came out more like egg drop soup poured over rice—definitely not the style you’d find in Hong Kong, but still kind of comforting in its own way. My mother-in-law had the wonton soup. The bowl was huge, and while the noodles weren’t especially fresh, the wontons were decent, and she seemed happy with it. We also shared a side of cheong fun (rice noodle rolls), which turned out to be the highlight. For seven bucks, it was a great deal and tasted pretty good. Overall, Fung Wong is fine for a casual meal if you want to fill up without spending much, but it won’t wow you if you’re after authentic HK-style dishes.
