Amazing Veggie and Mahi Tacos!
My experience at the restaurant was amazing, earning a 7. 5 or maybe an 8. The Veggie Tlayuda was a favorite, and the mole enchilada was nice and light. The mahi tacos were great and filling, and the queso fundido was solid. The service, atmosphere, and food all received a perfect 5/5.

Mind-blowing Mezcal and Excellent Service
We weren't planning on going here but changed our mind mid-way, and I'm happy that we did. The service was excellent, and the food was good. The mezcals were mind-blowing! We even joined the donaji mezcal club because it's a pretty awesome concept, and I'm not saying no to another shot of mezcal. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting SF. Note: The quantities are good, so be careful about ordering too much food; one entree is pretty filling for one person.

Authentic Mole and Great Drinks!
My experience at the restaurant was fantastic! I was incredibly impressed with the food, finding it to be the closest to authentic in the city. I haven't had mole that good in a long time. The drinks were also very well made. The atmosphere was a perfect 5/5, and the service was rated a solid 4/5.

Unique and Delicious Food with Great Staff
My experience at this restaurant was truly amazing. The food was incredibly unique and delicious, with the tacos being particularly insane. I tried the Tlayuda Oaxaca, which was incredible, and even the dried ground crickets were delicious. Their chili oil is also fantastic. The staff were really nice and very personable, with Lupe being a gem. An insider tip: get a Mezcal bingo card.

Amazing Ambiance, But Food Wasn't For Me
I really wanted to like their food, but it just wasn’t for me. The presentation was amazing, the host was super friendly and helpful, and the overall ambience of the place was great. I was seated in the bar area for dinner with one other person. While the service and atmosphere received a perfect score, the food did not, and I would not recommend it for vegetarians.

Delicious Oaxacan Flavors with Minor Hiccups
My experience at this restaurant began with learning the correct pronunciation of 'Donaji' (doh na hee). My friend and I started with margaritas; he enjoyed the Coco, and I had the Cadillac. Both were delicious. Although the G4 Reposado was unavailable, they graciously substituted another smokey Reposado, which was also excellent. We shared the Mercado Ensalade, and it was a generous portion. The greens and oranges were fresh, and the pickled onions paired with the hibiscus vinaigrette offered a perfect balance of sweet and sour. My friend ordered the mole chicken enchiladas with rice, ensuring he could savor all the flavor-packed mole, a blend of 26 ingredients. I, not being a mole fan, requested the Mole Rojo Spare Ribs without the sauce, with a side of refried beans. However, I received the Mole Rojo 1/4 chicken without the sauce. Upon informing the staff, they apologized for the error and offered to correct it. Not wanting the chicken to go to waste, I accepted the dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked with wonderfully spiced, crispy skin, accompanied by a small portion of pickled vegetables. Our waiter returned with dessert menus and also brought two complimentary shots of smokey Mezcal with orange slices and Tajin spice, apologizing again for the mix-up. The Mezcal was smooth, and the accompaniments enhanced its flavor. We shared the Churro Donut with warm chocolate sauce. The churro was perfectly crisp, not at all oily, and the silky chocolate sauce was abundant. We felt the price of <$60 per person before tip was reasonable for the quality. Parking was readily available in yellow loading zones on 24th Street around 6 PM. A DJ started around 8: 45 PM on a Wednesday, and after some initial sound adjustments, the volume was suitable for conversation. This is a place I would definitely recommend to friends and family and would return to.

Delicious Mole Enchiladas, Wish for Rice
My experience at the restaurant was largely positive, centered around the chicken mole enchiladas. The mole itself was a standout, described as both spicy and sweet. While the food was excellent, I did wish that the enchiladas came with rice. We had a reservation for two outside, but we were able to get seated inside without any problem, which was a smooth transition. The service and atmosphere were both rated highly.

Authentic Oaxaca Flavors and Great Margaritas
My dining choices were between Italian, Thai, or Oaxaca, offering a wide variety of cuisine. As I walked by, the menus were enticing, but the liveliness inside Donaji drew me in. I have no regrets, as I've always wanted to try food from the Southern Mexican region, and they also have a pretty solid bar. We kept it simple with Guacamole with chips, cauliflower tacos, and braised ribs with corn. The guacamole was spot on. I wish the crickets were served whole, but they were ground. The cauliflower tacos were nice, with a crunchy good flavor. However, the highlight was the braised ribs; they melted on my tongue, and the mole sauce perfectly supported the ribs without being overpowering. The corn was a nice way to round out the various flavors. And yes, their margaritas are worth mentioning – I haven't had any as good since my last visit to Mexico. Congrats to the chef, well done!
